In any runway show, the hair and makeup styling are often just as essential to creating a specific image as the clothes themselves. Joseph Altuzarra designed his Fall/Winter 2022 collection with the mysteries of the deep sea in mind. To fully harness this nautical image, he employed the expert hairstyling of Oribe as well as the skincare techniques of Tata Harper.

Harper prepped each model with her Nourishing Oil Cleanser to remove sunscreen and makeup from previous shows. Then, with their faces now clean, she generously applied the Hydrating Floral Mask to plump and hydrate the skin. However, to truly create an underwater look, she sprayed the Hydrating Floral Essence on top of the mask and mixes the two to create a milky consistency that leaves the ultimate dewy glow. Harper then capped off the look with her Repairative Moisturizer.

In complementing these wet looks, hairstylist James Pecis utilized Oribe's line of luxury haircare to style flat, textured waves inspired by sirens rising out from the sea. He wet the hair down with Oribe's Foundation Mist or Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray for models with coarser hair texture. Once the hair was pliable, he used a combination of a wide-tooth comb and his fingers to create a coastal, windswept look before setting the finished product with the Volumista Mist.
