Look Inside New York Fashion Week's Star-Studded Events
From dinner parties to crazy nights out, take a look at the biggest events of New York Fashion Week.
As New York Fashion Week takes over the Big Apple, the star-studded parties are begging to take over. From crazy afterparties to exciting installions, here are some of the top NYFW events.
Saks' Intimate Dinner at L’Avenue
Saks CEO Marc Metrick and Academy Award-nominated actress Amanda Seyfried hosted an intimate dinner to celebrate the start of fashion week.
Decorated to bring the Spring/Summer 2022 campaign to life, Saks restuarant L'Avenue was transformed into a floral fantasy. With brightly colored exotic flowers, custom acrylic tabletops, and a 5-foot-tall champange tower, the dinner party was anything but boring.
The event brought together a collection of some of fashion's best designers, and some of pop culture's best influencers and celebrites. Lola Leon, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Fernando Garcia, Laura Kim, Christopher John Rogers, Heron Preston, Wes Gordon, Taylor Hage, Ava Salmaci, Stacey Bendet, Lili Buffett, Lindsay Peoples Wagner, Samantha Barry, and Amanda Nguyen, were only a few of the guests in attendance.
All guests were served a three course meal from L'Avenue's signature menu, and enjoyed cocktails and a muscial performace from Julius Rodriguez throughout the rest of the evening.
The Art of Rodarte
Co-founders of Rodarte, Kate and Laura Mulleavy and co-founder and co-CEO of Afterpay, Anthony Eisen teamed up to build "The Art of Rodarte," an immersive consumer experience at Spring Studios in Manhattan, the first consumer experience in the space. Ahead of the grand opening, the exhibition held a star-studded celebration on February 11 attended by Maude Apatow, Hari Nef, Rowan Blanchard, among others.
"The Art of Rodarte," is an immersive experience featuring the runway and on-screen work of the Mulleavy sisters. Produced by IMG Focus with technology from Yahoo, the exhibition will open to the public from Saturday, February 12 to Tuesday, February 15. Tickets can be reserved at NYFW.com along with limited ticketed access at Spring Studios.
"As a brand deeply rooted in fashion and committed to helping showcase local designers and revitalize the industry at-large, one of our biggest goals at Afterpay is to democratize fashion and unlock access for consumers," said an Afterpay spokesperson. "Fashion weeks are being re-invented to make them relevant again post-COVID and this accessibility and ease is what the consumer is craving. With our programming it is important that we continue to break down previous barriers to the industry and help open the doors of NYFW to all who want it!"
818 Tequila X Blank Street Coffee Pop Up
On February 11 and 12, Kendall Jenner's 818 Tequila teamed up with Blank Street Coffee to keep New Yorkers warm with complimentary spiked coffee cocktails. The limited edition menu included a Spiked Blanco Mocha (818 blanco espresso mixed with choloate syrup and topped with steamed oat milk), a Buzzed Minty Cold Brew (818 Añejo and peppermint), and Reposado Americano (818 reposado americano sweetened with a splash of caramel syrup).
818 Tequila is an award-winning tequila produced using traditional methods in Jalisco, Mexico. Blank Street is a coffee shop born in Williamsburg operating out of micro-retail windows and coffee carts in over 29 locations across Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Dion Lee After Party
In collaboration with the dating app Feeld, Dion Lee hosted a Valentine's Day After Party for New York Fashion Week. Guests were invited to The Palace in Soho after the designer's Fall/Winter 2022 runway show on February 14. Once inside, the room was covered with heart-shaped balloons to add a festival feel.
Guests could get heart-shaped temporary tattoos, leave "love notes," and take pictures in the Feeld photo booth. By combining Lee's unisex nature of design with Feeld's progressive take on the dating app, the event was a celebration of "non-conformity, openness, and embracing one's authentic self." Some of your favorite celebs such as Lourdes Leon, Ian Jeffery, Selah Marley, and Foushee were all in attendance to spread the love at NYFW.
Diesel Soho Grand Opening Party
On February 11, casual wear and denim brand Diesel kicked off New York Fashion Week with the grand opening of their Soho flagship. Guests and passersby marveled at the red and white project that took over their building. Animations gave the illusion that the store was breaking apart and being rebuilt in the brand's red and white pattern.
Flo Milli, Brad Mondo, Lily Chee, and Alexandar Roth were a few of the celebrities in attendance. Guests were invited to peruse the new Spring/Summer 2022 collection, enjoy cocktails, and enjoy the live music provided by DJ Total Freedom. The entire event was a celebration of not only the store opening but of creative director Glenn Martens's vision for the future of the brand.
