For Spring/Summer 2027, Max Mara looks to the women who traveled the world in the 1930s, from explorer Freya Stark to aviator Amelia Earhart. Their influence comes through in clothes made for movement: safari jackets, cargo vests, overalls, and big buckled belts. The mood is adventurous, but the collection’s strongest idea is much closer to home. These are pieces a woman could wear through a busy week.

The safari jacket anchors the collection. In textured linen and lustrous gabardine, it can be draped and knotted at the side or worn long and loose like a duster. That range gives a familiar Max Mara staple a more relaxed attitude. Elsewhere, a voluminous trench sits low on the hips with a slung belt, while a cargo vest fits neatly over a jacket cut from the same cloth. The styling adds dimension without losing the clean lines that make the brand’s tailoring so appealing.&nbsp;

Lighter pieces soften all that structure. Fluid gored skirts and slinky knits bring ease to the wardrobe, while shorts inspired by camiknickers introduce a playful note. Organza overalls, leather straps, and D-rings push the explorer theme further. The mix of sturdy and delicate materials gives the collection its rhythm: there is enough polish for the office and enough looseness to make the clothes feel comfortable outside it.
That balance also makes the collection easy to imagine in stores. A linen safari jacket or relaxed trench could become a summer favorite, and the convertible bags offer a useful answer to days that call for more than one kind of carryall. Even the more thematic pieces have practical counterparts. While the Max Mara woman may not be literally in the jungle or on any safari, this wardrobe is ready for the everyday commute, meeting, and whatever comes after.
