From gray floral face paint to match the handmade 3-D flowers adorning the designs to patches of cracked clay masks evoking scuplture, the thoughtful beauty added to Browne's storytelling.

The creative feat was only made even more impressive considering the designer presented over 200 pieces on the garden runway. Browne, who usually shows in Paris, chose to present in New York this season to align with the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibition In America: A Lexicon of Fashion opening this week.
