Between McQueen skull scarves and Isabel Marant wedge sneakers, it seems nostalgia is at an all-time high this season.

There's something in the air this <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/fall-2025-fashion-trends-back-to-school-collections-story" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fall</a>, but it's not just a chilly autumnal breeze. It seems <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/archival-fashion-trend-fall-winter-2025-jadore-dior-shirt" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sentimentality for styles of the past</a> is the latest sartorial direction du jour, but we're not talking <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/helmut-lang-designer-career-90s-minimalism-fashion-month" target="_blank" rel="noopener">'90s minimalism</a> or '80s power suiting.
This season, there are a few very particular fashion pieces that have worked their way back into the cultural zeitgeist&mdash;namely, Alexander McQueen's iconic skull scarves and Isabel Marant's Bekett sneakers.&nbsp;

When the archetypal skull print was first introduced by <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/alexander-mcqueen-iconic-runway-shows-designer-lee-mcqueen-fashion-history" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alexander McQueen</a> back in 2003, it was a near-instant hit, and prevailed as a go-to style&mdash;particularly on scarves&mdash;among literally every single 2000s It girl. From bag accessories to neck adornments to make-shift belts, the print was everywhere, even beyond its mid-2000s heyday, ranging into the 2010s.
Now, in 2025, the print is making its way back into the mainstream, after it was revived by McQueen's current creative director, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/who-is-sean-mcgirr-alexander-mcqueen-new-creative-director-sarah-burton" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Se&aacute;n McGirr</a>. The look's resurgence feels perfectly of the moment, considering pop culture's current ongoing obsession with all things dark, moody, and indie sleaze, and after recent co-signs from celebrity style savants like Timoth&eacute;e Chalamet and Charli XCX, it seems the skull scarf is here to stay.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, adjacent to the recent <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/indie-sleaze-aesthetic-2010s-trend-comeback-era" target="_blank" rel="noopener">indie sleaze craze</a>, we have the renewal of the Isabel Marant Bekett Sneaker&mdash;yes, that wedge sneaker, as seen on the feet of 2010s fashionistas like <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/young-photos-of-beyonce-birthday-age" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Beyonc&eacute;</a>, Gisele B&uuml;ndchen, and Kim Kardashian, among many, many others (that rumored six-month wait list after the shoes released was no joke, it seems).
&nbsp;Just like it did back in the day, the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/isabel-marant-wedge-sneaker-bekett-trend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bekett sneaker</a> still has its fair share of naysayers, but as per usual, the girls that get it, get it. The style has become particularly popular among fashion microinfluencers on TikTok who walk the streets of cities like New York and Copenhagen in their wedged sneakers, but as unique style continues to become a priority in the age of individualism, they're catching on among even the most mainstream of dressers. However, despite consumer demand, the sneakers still haven't made it back to the runway&mdash;yet, though be sure to keep your eyes attuned to the footwear on the catwalk in the designer's upcoming collections.&nbsp;

Of course, we would be remiss if we failed to mention the slow, but steady lean back into slim-fitting denim styles&mdash;that's right, the skinny jean is on its way back in. Throughout the 2010s, trends came and went, but if one thing was consistent, it was that the jeans just kept getting skinnier.
Think back to Hedi Slimane's many, many slim-fitted trouser styles that followed him from his time at Dior Hommes, then onto Saint Laurent, and finally to Celine, where he continued to show ultra-narrow <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/celine-homme-spring-summer-2024-collection-photo-looks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">jeans on the runway as recently as 2023</a>.&nbsp;
For many, skinny jeans were the epitome of It girl street style in the 2010s&mdash;take <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/alexa-chung-s-style-evolution" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alexa Chung</a>, the Internet's contemporary cool-girl muse, who wore the style out and about constantly, whether on city dates with her then-boyfriend Alex Turner, or on the way to high-profile London Fashion Week events. Chung's brand of indie swagger has always been on our minds, but it seems recently, the look is making a veritable comeback&mdash;and not just on TikTok, take Emily Ratajkowski's recent skinny jean love affair as proof of that.&nbsp;
