Balenciaga Opens Ultra-Modern New Boutique In São Paulo
The luxury label has expanded its global presence with a brand-new store in Brazil's largest city.
Balenciaga has touched down in Brazil once again with a brand-new store in Iguatemi, one of São Paulo's most iconic shopping centers. As with other brick-and-mortar Balenciaga stores, the Iguatemi location is slated to carry ready-to-wear apparel for both men and women, as well as shoes, bags, accessories, jewelry, and eyewear. The new store is set to open its doors on August 19, 2024.
The sleek new space offers a glimpse at the label's aesthetic vision through its wearable luxury offerings as well as its meticulously designed interior, proving it to be a must-visit boutique for longtime devotees of the brand and new faces alike.
The Iguatemi Balenciaga store features stunning, state-of-the-art interior architecture in a modern, industrial style. With a focus on the label's now quintessential Raw Architecture concept, the space is characterized by its brushed concrete floors, concrete slab shelving fixtures, and pared-back, technical lighting. With sleek gray flooring that resembles sidewalk tiling, Balenciaga furthers its experimental design philosophy, introducing the concept of dissonance between the concept of indoor and outdoor spaces and subsequently blending them. Through this radical design move, Balenciaga continues its exploratory role in the fashion industry, questioning what luxury truly looks like in the eyes of the contemporary shopper. Although the interior certainly skews industrial, the label's visionary designers and architects added plenty of lighting fixtures to create a warm, well-lit atmosphere for guests to enjoy.
Throughout the construction and interior design process for Balenciaga's brand-new Iguatemi location, the label was careful in factoring in previously existing elements of the space, resulting in the usage of fewer raw materials in line with Balenciaga's commitment to sustainability. This core value is also realized in the aged aluminum tables and the locally-made vegan leather benches throughout the space.
Balenciaga's Iguatemi opening marks the label's third store in Brazil, with the two earlier boutiques located in São Paulo and Rio De Janeiro.
