Everything We Know About 'BUTT Magazine's Comeback
With backing from luxury brand Bottega Veneta, the queer-centric publication BUTT Magazine is back in business after more than a decade.
A beloved lifestyle magazine of the gay community is finally reentering the already flourishing scene.
BUTT Magazine first launched in 2001 and was a cornerstone of gay media for the next 10 years. "The community of international homosexuals," the quarterly magazine reported on gay lifestyle and happenings. Sex-positive and connection-driven, the magazine was also notable for bringing together its readers (or BUTTheads) during its prime.
From a documentary about the magazine to interviews with founders Jop van Bennekom and Gert Jonkers, there was only occasional press surrounding BUTT following its closure in 2011. Not much seemed to be on the horizon for the magazine in its dormant years until its recent revitalization.
With Bottega Veneta being the sole advertiser for the magazine, it is anticipated BUTT will have a strong presence in the fashion world on top of its targeted queer audience. Upon the launch of the publication's 30th issue also comes with exclusive pieces from Bottega Veneta.
BUTT Magazine will be back to print this month; it launched during Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2022 and subsequently online. Before picking up BUTT's newest release, read through the magazine's archives online for a dose of nostalgia and a taste of what's soon to come.
