Which Celebrities Will Be at the 2023 Met Gala?
On fashion's biggest night of the year, here are the rumored A-list celebrities who will be in attendance.
The minute it was announced that the 2023 Met Gala theme will be "In Honor of Karl," fashion's biggest night received even more anticipation. From speculation on what Lagerfeld designs we'll see on the red carpet to who the hosts and co-chairs will be, any and every detail about the Met Gala has only raised the bar on excitement and expectations.
As the 2023 Met Gala fastly approaches, the ultimate question remains: who will be in attendance? The only stars we know for sure that will be there are the hosts and co-chairs, including Dua Lipa, Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, Roger Federer, and Anna Wintour. LaLa Anthony, Derek Blasberg, Chloe Fineman, and Emma Chamberlain will also be present as they take on the roles of live stream hosts. Other than that, we will not officially know the guest list until Met Gala night, however, there have been rumored lists speculating who will walk the famous steps.
A source at Page Six claimed that none of the Kardashians will be making the list this year, however, per a source from The Sun, Kim Kardashian has been confirmed with an invite, though she is "very unhappy" about the claims, leaving a "strained" relationship between her and the Met Gala team. Pop culture news source Pop Tingz released a rumored guest list for other celebrity guests on Twitter. Some of the celebrities rumored to attend include:
Further causing Met Gala invite speculation is none other than Timothée Chalamet, who was spotted filming a Chanel commercial in New York. The actor has an alleged Chanel fragrance contract, leaving many questioning if the partnership plays any influence on any plans for his attendance at the Met Gala. Further supporting the rumors of Chalamet's gala invite is his attendance from previous years, in which he served as a co-host for the 2021 Met Gala, alongside Amanda Gorman, Billie Eilish, and Naomi Osaka.
With the theme honoring Lagerfeld, Lagerfeld's favorite models may also make the list including Cara Delevigne, Naomi Campbell, Adwoa Aboah, Adut Akech, Claudia Schiffer, Kendall Jenner, Luna Bijl, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Alek Wek, and Devon Aoki.
The designer was well known for launching the high fashion careers of fashion's favorite nepo babies. In 2015, a 16-year-old Lily-Rose Depp was cast in her first Chanel campaign, followed by becoming the face of the house's new fragrance, Chanel No. 5 L'Eau, a year later. Unsurprisingly for Depp's 2016 Met Gala debut, the model opted for a Chanel dress and has sported the luxury brand at the gala in the years since. Kaia Gerber's modeling career was also greatly supported by Lagerfeld as she made her couture debut on the Chanel Spring/Summer 2018 runway, followed by her first major ad campaign with the brand, and a collaborative collection with the designer. As two of Lagerfeld's muses, the models are certainly rumored to return to the Met Gala red carpet.
The full guest lineup will be revealed to the world on May 1, and you can start watching the live stream at 6:30 p.m. EST.
