CFDA And Tiffany & Co. Partner On New Jewelry Designer Award
The unveiling of the new award marks a momentous new era for the jewelry industry.
Fêting the wealth of creative excellence at work within the expansive community of jewelry designers across the country, the CFDA has announced its new partnership with Tiffany & Co. for a brand new jewelry design award, much akin to the already existing womenswear and menswear fashion awards.
“This first-ever award with a sole focus on jewelry is a testament to CFDA’s longstanding commitment and mission to celebrate American creative excellence. Through the CFDA IMPACT program, we are thrilled to partner with Tiffany & Co., a cornerstone House with an iconic heritage, and Tiffany Atrium to identify and cultivate an inclusive next generation of American jewelry designers,” said Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA, in a statement.
Although jewelry often falls into the category of accessories where many leading luxury designers are concerned, this move by CFDA and Tiffany & Co. marks an avowed interest and investment in the overwhelming talent, artistry, and level of craftsmanship that goes into jewelry designing. By uplifting emerging designers with a monetary prize of $50,000 and a yearlong fellowship with some of the jewelry house's foremost designers and artisans, Tiffany & Co. and CFDA further their commitment to the industry and the young artists shaping it.
“The inaugural Tiffany & Co. x CFDA Jewelry Designer Award uplifts Tiffany Atrium’s commitment to fostering lasting change across the jewelry and design industries. With a rich history of supporting inclusivity and creative excellence, Tiffany & Co. continues to be a champion for creative expression and social impact,” said Alexandre Arnault, Executive Vice President of Product, Communications & Industrial, Tiffany & Co, in a statement on the introduction of the award.
The inaugural award application opens for submissions on July 29, 2024, and closes on August 16, 2024. Finalists for the CFDA x Tiffany & Co. Jewelry Award will be announced later in the fall, with the announcement for the recipient slated for early 2025.
