Her first pre-fall collection will debut in Paris in January 2024.

Following <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/gabriela-hearst-leaving-chloe-exit-creative-director-fashion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gabriela Hearst's departure</a>, Chlo&eacute; has appointed Chemena Kamali to succeed her as the new creative director. After three years at the brand's helm, Hearst bid her adieu presenting her <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/chloe-spring-summer-2024-paris-fashion-week-runway-images" target="_blank" rel="noopener">final collection for the Spring/Summer 2024</a> season. Once the news was confirmed that Hearst was stepping down, many speculated that Kamali was a top contender for the position.
The German-born designer and Central Saint Martin's graduate has a notable fashion background, starting her career at <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/phoebe-philo-celine-chloe-designer-return" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Phoebe Philo</a>-era Chlo&eacute;, and later working alongside <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/clare-waight-keller-uniqlo-c-capsule-collection-fashion-exclusive-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Clare Waight Keller</a> in 2013. Most recently, beginning in 2016, Kamali worked for <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/anthony-vaccarello-runway-history-saint-laurent" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anthony Vaccarello</a> at Saint Laurent as the Design Director for women's ready-to-wear.&nbsp;

"Chemena's vision, inspired by her love for the brand, will truly celebrate Chlo&eacute;'s unique DNA. Chemena is both the Creative Director of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/chloe-fall-winter-2023-collection-looks-runway-photos-gabriela-hearst" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chlo&eacute;</a> and the embodiment of the Chlo&eacute; spirit. I am excited to see her vision come to life."
Chemena has also issued a statement on her excitement, saying, "My heart has always been Chlo&eacute;'s. It has been since I stepped through its doors more than 20 years ago. Returning feels natural and very personal. I am extremely honored to be taking on this role and to be building on the vision that Gaby Aghion and Karl Lagerfeld defined early in the Maison's history. I hope to capture the emotional connection and spirit of Chlo&eacute; for today."
This year has been a big year for the appointments of new creative directors for legacy houses. For this most recent fashion month for the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/fashion-trends-spring-summer-2024-runways" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Spring/Summer 2024 season</a>, we saw the debut collections of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/helmut-lang-spring-summer-2024-nyfw-runway-images" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Peter Do for Helmut Lang</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/gucci-spring-summer-2024-milan-fashion-week" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sabato de Sarno for Gucci</a>, and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/tom-ford-spring-summer-2024-milan-fashion-week-runway-images" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Peter Hawkings for Tom Ford</a>.
Chemena's debut Chlo&eacute; collection will be presented in Paris in January 2024 for pre-fall, followed by jer Fall/Winter 2024 show in February 2024 for Paris Fashion Week.
