Dior's Fall/Winter 2018 Collection
Inspired by the 1968 student protests in Paris, Dior's show was covered in slogans that enrich and strengthen Maria Grazia Chiuri's commitment to women.
For Fall 2018, Maria Grazia Chiuri revived a time when fashion had no rules. The year 1968 was a year in which protesting for women's rights was at an all-time high. New ideas, pure creativity, and experimentation of new territories flowed freely, and people felt at liberty to express themselves and invent their own image. This was the same vibe felt at Dior.
Standouts from the range included kilts and a graphic sweater that read: "C'est Non, Non, Non et NON!" (Look 1). Kilts were worn with tailored jackets, each with different lengths and made with unexpected fabrics. Other pieces resembled uniforms of Sorbonne or Nanterre students. denim and patchwork jackets, shearling capes, wool embroidery-on-organza dresses, leather trench coats, mini skirts, and plenty of crochet and fringe.
