Paris and Tokyo Meet in Dior Men's New Capsule Collection with Sacai
Designers Kim Jones and Chitose Abe join forces for a limited collection that combines Japanese aesthetics with French couture.
Kim Jones's love for artistic collaboration has never been a secret, so Dior Men's new collaboration with Chitose Abe of Sacai comes as no surprise. As fusion is a hallmark of the Sacai brand, the capsule collection blends the signature codes of both Houses—from the larger creative vision down to the granular details—to create an array of chic menswear pieces in a color palette of black, white, and other muted tones.
Within the iconic Dior logo, the Sacai brand name comprises the "I," formalizing the partnership between the two fashion houses. Elements of sportswear—the style of Sacai—are paired with crisp lines and expert tailoring—one of Dior's trademark features. The employment of Japanese denim interacts seamlessly within the landscape of Parisian silhouettes and styles. The collection also features berets designed by British milliner Stephen Jones, a frequent collaborator at Dior. Classic Dior winter footwear emboldens Sacai's signature bomber jackets and pearl detailing.
Each look illustrates a conversation between Japanese and French fashion resulting in a blend of modernity and heritage that Jones is known to showcase in his solo work.
The Dior x Sacai capsule collection will be available beginning November 2021. See every look from the collaboration below.
