Known for her sharp tailoring and chic knits, Gabriela Hearst's new denim line&mdash;in cobalt, siena, and orange hues&mdash;is now available to shop.

<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/gabriela-hearst-leaving-chloe-exit-creative-director-fashion">Gabriela Hearst</a> is putting sustainability back in the spotlight with the launch of her first-ever 100% recycled cotton denim line. Originally previewed during her <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/campaigns-summer-pre-fall-winter-2025">Fall/Winter 2025</a> show at <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/fashion-designers-runway-political-statements-fall-winter-2025">Paris Fashion Week</a> in March, the collection reflects the Uruguayan designer&rsquo;s commitment to <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/men/ron-dorff-summer-sustainable-swimwear-2025">responsible luxury</a>&mdash;at a time when fashion&rsquo;s eco-conscious momentum has begun to stall.&nbsp;
While <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/shopping/kendrick-lamar-flare-jeans-bootcut-denim-trend-shop">denim</a> isn&rsquo;t entirely new territory for the brand, this marks the house&rsquo;s first use of fully recycled cotton in its jeans. Developed in a lightweight, structured weave, the collection features five-pocket silhouettes in its signature styles: the cropped Ezra bootcut, the Rey straight-leg, and the long Willa bootcut. Each pair is finished with custom brass buttons inlaid with wood at the waist.&nbsp;
Color is where this denim offering catches our eye. In contrast to the otherwise earthy, muted palette typical of Fall/Winter lines, the jeans arrive in vibrant, painterly shades: cobalt blue, golden birch, antelope orange, burnt sienna, and white. The tones were inspired by a set of traditional Spanish house paint pigments gifted to Hearst by her friend, filmmaker Clara Cullen.

For purists, the jeans are also available in a classic medium-wash finish, named &ldquo;Uruguayan Blue&rdquo;&mdash;a tribute to Gabriela Hearst&rsquo;s homeland.&nbsp;
The brand&rsquo;s release notes that the pieces are garment-dyed after beginning as either natural indigo or white denim.&nbsp;
&ldquo;The dying process, where the pieces are hand-treated with an ecological wash, uses significantly less electricity than the normal industrial manufacture of denim,&rdquo; the release read. &ldquo;The water use is circular, as it is filtered and reused throughout the different stages of creating the material.&rdquo;&nbsp;
The denim line is part of the brand&rsquo;s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, which, true to the house&rsquo;s ethos, upheld rigorous sustainability standards. The line also featured responsibly sourced leather pieces, herringbone mink <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/anya-taylor-joy-no-pants-mcqueen-fur-coat-outfit-nyc">coats</a>, and reworked exotic skin bags. Still, it was the denim that brought unexpected vibrancy to the runway&mdash;a bold twist for a fall collection.&nbsp;
