Everything We Know about Jean Paul Gaultier's Vintage Rental Service
The French fashion house is stepping into a new era of retail.
Starting October 27, 30 of John Paul Gaultier's most whimsical corsets and fabulously flattering silhouettes will be available to rent.
Inspired by fashion’s current pull towards trends of the '80s and '90s, the French fashion house is pulling from its over 30,000-piece archive collection to give fashion lovers all over the world a taste of luxury.
Including iconic pieces such as Madonna’s satin cone corset from her Blond Ambition tour, the vintage rental service encourages an investment in quality rather than in fast fashion garments.
In the creative hands of Florence Tétier and with the management of Antoine Gagey, the vintage rental shop hopes to bring in a broader audience of fashion devotees, and encourage expansion rather than exclusivity in the realm of high-end fashion.
“We want to explore new ways of buying and experiencing fashion by mixing in the same platform,” Gagey said about the fashion house’s latest venture in style.
To supplement the brand’s rental service, 50 pieces sourced from private clients and resellers will also be available for purchase online.
