Louis Vuitton Appoints Johnny Coca as the New Creative Director of Accessories
The Spanish designer previously at Bally, Celine, and Mulberry will be in charge of Louis Vuitton's Women's Leather Goods department.
Louis Vuitton has announced they will be appointing Johnny Coca as head of their fashion leather goods department. Starting on June 2nd, 2020, Coca will bring his creativity to women's leather goods, working on accessories together with Nicolas Ghesquière. He'll be responsible for high-end leather goods, bags, special orders and the eyewear line.

It is with pride that I join Nicolas Ghesquière and the Louis Vuitton teams to further develop the women's handbag collections."
The Spanish designer's resume includes stints with the greatest luxury houses, first at Bally and then Céline alongside Phoebe Philo. Still fresh from his last experience as creative director of Mulberry, the Spanish designer shares: "For me, the journey is now back at the starting point, in the place where I was lucky enough to hone my passion first hand and learn the fundamentals of leather processing in the Asnières ateliers. A new chapter opens in my creative adventure, in an extraordinary laboratory that combines heritage and modernity."
Ghesquière, for his part, seems very excited to have Coca back at the Paris maison. "I am happy to welcome Johnny to Louis Vuitton and I am very happy that he joins me on this journey," he said. "The team and I are looking forward to working with him in the stimulating world of Louis Vuitton."
