Lanvin Brings Comic Books to High Fashion
The French fashion house includes DC Comic Book superheroes in its Spring/Summer 2022 collection.
The world of superheroes never ceases to fascinate. No matter where you are in the world, it's impossible to not know who Batman or Catwoman are. Bruno Sialelli, artistic director of Lanvin, is one of many who have been influenced by the class DC Comics. The Batman series played an integral role in his childhood, and today he pays tribute to the franchise by inviting its prestigious protagonists to happily invade the refined universe of the French fashion house.
By taking up residence in Maison Lanvin, the DC Comics universe is imbued with the eternally renewed luxury and sophistication in the spirit of Jeanne Lanvin's creations. Brilliant DC comics-style colors like blue, purple and scarlet bloom freely without ever atomizing Lanvin's delicate daisies. The shoulder lines gain confidence and comfort by amplifying the silhouette of the masculine and feminine outfits imagined by Sialelli. Clothing and accessories adopt saturated hues and Gotham City art deco lines. The lightness of the DC Comics universe perfectly succeeds in its incursion into the traditions launched by Jeanne Lanvin.
The collection will be available online and in stores in early March, just in time for the release of the highly anticipated movie The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz. The film is set to hit theaters on March 4.
