The final selection for the 2022 LVHM Prize for Young Fashion Designers is on the horizon, and these eight finalists are intensifying the industry's anticipations.

The 2022 <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/lvmh-prize-winner-2019" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LVMH Prize</a> for Young Fashion Designers has released their list of the eight finalists up for the prestigious award. Spanning across seven countries, different gender identities, and dynamic design aesthetics, the finalists represent the incredible diversity of fashion's cultural zeitgeist.
The eight finalists, who were selected at the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/2022-lvmh-prize-semi-finalists-young-fashion-designers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">semi-finals</a> earlier this March, are Ashlyn by Ashlyn Park, ERL by Eli Russell Linnetz, Knwls by Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault, Roisin Pierce by Ro&iacute;s&iacute;n Pierce, Ryunosukeokazaki by Ryunosuke Okazaki, S.S. Daley by Steven Stokey Daley, Tokyo James by Iniye Tokyo James, and Winnie New York by Idris Balogun.
The 9th edition of the award sets a precedent for the future of not only the prize winner's place in the industry but also the state of fashion as a whole. Many of the current biggest names in fashion have received the prize, including last year's winner <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/nensi-dojaka-winner-2021-lvmh-karl-lagerfeld-prize" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nensi Dojaka</a>, 2017 winner <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/marine-serre-fashion-film-fall-winter-2019" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marine Serre</a>, 2016 winner Simon Porte <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/jacquemus-spring-summer-2022-runway-show-hawaii-sza-jennie-blackpink" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jacquemus</a>, and 2015 winner <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/wales-bonner-lfw" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Grace Wales Bonner</a>; all of whom have had an indelible influence in contemporary fashion.

South Korean label Ashlyn's vision is defined by "modern-lux tailoring" and a sustainable edge. Creative director Ashlynn Park promises zero-waste, effortless tailoring, and the execution of modern perfection.

Eli Russell Linnetz's Venice Beach-based label ERL integrates vintage California aesthetics into modern, everyday sensibilities. Its latest collection brought a slew of looks inspired by American football, Shaun White-esque ski gear, and offbeat youth.

American-Canadian brand Knwls is the pinnacle of the sexy and sophisticated it-girl aesthetic. Designers Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault have mastered blending together vintage inspirations, unique textiles, and coveted silhouettes that create an unmistakably Knwls ensemble.

Irish designer R&oacute;is&iacute;n Pierce's namesake label champions zero-waste practices while also creating ethereally textured pieces. Pierce's angelically white collections are consciously upcycled, delicately appliqu&eacute;d, and reflective of the history of Irish women.

The Tokyo-based electrifying label Ryunosukeokazaki is stylized in all caps for good reason; designer Ryunosuke Okazaki creates out-of-this-world haute couture silhouettes that viscerally strike the viewer. It's alien, architectural, and dreamlike.&nbsp;

S.s Daley, 2021

The London label S.S. Daley is a storybook fantasy realized through boundary-breaking menswear. Steven Stokey Daley's pieces feature immaculate tailoring, floral motifs, and a lot of fantasy reminiscent of Disney story worlds.&nbsp;

Nigerian-British designer Iniye Tokyo James' brand is vibrant, strong, and "a different type of luxury." Classic tailoring is more playful, formal dress is somehow warped, and the presence of the pieces truly differentiates Tokyo James from the often predictable luxury looks fashion crowds have come to know.

Brooklyn-based designer Idris Balogun redefines simplicity in Winnie New York. Balogun's recent Fall/Winter 2021 collection is warmly monochromatic, mysterious, and elevates familiar silhouettes and styling by adding unforeseen design elements.
