The conglomerate celebrates 25 years of supporting emerging designers, selecting a group of designers with a focus on sustainability, eco-friendly design, and gender fluidity in fashion.&nbsp;

With over 1,900 applicants, LVHM has announced its 20 semi-finalists for their 25th LVHM Prize for Young Fashion Designers. The designers will showcase their collections at a Paris showroom from March 4 to 5, where selected "experts of the prize" and icons in the fashion world will select eight finalists. From there, the competition will open to the public in an online format&mdash;replicating last year's selection process. Public voters will have access to the collections via the house's website dedicated to the prize from March 4 to 9.&nbsp;
"The twenty semi-finalists are driven by an optimistic and innovative vision," said Delphine Arnault, Executive Vice President for LVHM. "They all place eco-responsibility at the heart of their creative approach with the use of recycled materials, upcycling, etc. They are also very keen on integrating more ethical production systems, while some place the spotlight on local and traditional know-how. The fluidity of womenswear and menswear is another key feature of this edition."&nbsp;
The designers hail from 13 countries&mdash;including Sri Lanka, a country never been featured in the competition before. Of the brands, Palomo Spain is the one to be re-selected for the prize, having been a semi-finalist in the 2017 edition.&nbsp;

This year's newest members of the Committee of Experts includes Camille Charri&eacute;re, Eva Chen, Editor of Es Magazine Ben Cobb, Head of Editorial Content for GQ France Pierre A. M'Pel&eacute;, Editor-in-Chief of Interview Magazine Mel Ottenberg, Fashion Director of British Vogue Julia Sarr-Jamois, Cindy Sherman, and Head of Editorial Content for Vogue Paris Eug&eacute;ne Trochu. No event ambassador has been announced by the conglomerate yet.&nbsp;
The victor will receive &euro;300,000 and a year-long mentorship from one of the LVHM fashion houses. Other designers will be awarded subsequent awards, such as the Karl Largerfeld Prize which offers a &euro;150,00 prize and a one-year mentorship. 
Three graduating fashion students will also receive &euro;10,000 and join one of LVHM's fashion houses for a year. Applications can be submitted on lvhmprize.com until March 15.&nbsp;
