The first woman to helm <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/chloe-fall-winter-2023-collection-looks-runway-photos-gabriela-hearst" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chlo&eacute;</a> since its founder Gaby Aghion, designer Martine Sitbon synthesized <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/shopping/daisy-jones-and-the-six-70s-style-fashion-outfits-to-buy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rock and roll</a> and French romanticism&mdash;critically termed &ldquo;rock &lsquo;n&rsquo; romantic&rdquo;&mdash;and elevated the heritage brand to epitomize <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/camille-rowe-model-french-girl-style-instagram" target="_blank" rel="noopener">French Cool Girl</a> style in the late 1980s and early &lsquo;90s. Though she left the maison in 1992, Sitbon enjoyed international recognition for her signature aesthetic, which resonated with the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/supermodels-through-the-decades-runway-models-history" target="_blank" rel="noopener">supermodel</a> crowd. Like her mentees <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/phoebe-philo-celine-chloe-designer-returnhttps://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/phoebe-philo-celine-chloe-designer-return" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Phoebe Philo</a> and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/save-the-date/isabel-marant-video" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Isabel Marant</a>, Sitbon has since developed a cult following, growing increasingly buzzy amid today&rsquo;s &ldquo;indie sleaze&rdquo; revival. Sitbon returns to the fashion stage with her new project, Rev&mdash;a line based on her namesake brand&rsquo;s Fall/Winter 1997 collection. And Rizzoli&rsquo;s upcoming Martine Sitbon: Alternative Vision, art directed by Sitbon&rsquo;s longtime collaborator Marc Ascoli, offers an intimate understanding of the designer&rsquo;s vision, featuring a treasure trove of photographs and sketches from her personal archives.
