For his 40th collection, Siriano kicked off New York Fashion Week with a celebration of life and diversity.

<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/travel-living/christian-siriano-furniture-collection-1st-dibs-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Christian Siriano</a> is a showbiz man. Not only because he was the winner of Project Runway Season 4, but because he knows how to move (and sell himself) like few of his generation &mdash; whether as a media character or by famous friends.
In this face-to-face New York Fashion Week return, which began today, the stylist celebrated his 40th collection with a sizable show and party featuring a live performance from singer <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/marina-interview-ancient-dreams-in-a-modern-land-album-mans-world" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marina Diamandis</a> and an A-list group of unmasked celebs.

On the catwalk, Siriano showed that he knows how to take his studio to where post-quarantine youth fashion is pointing: a desire for small escapist extravagances for everyday life, strong colors, striking and shiny fabrics, and a respect for diversity, race, and the body&mdash;so much so that he opened and closed the show with plus-size model <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/donatella-versace-curvy-models-milan-fashion-precious-lee-jill-kortleve-naomi-campbell" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Precious Lee</a>.
Siriano spoke to the masses and, therefore, appropriated and translated everything that insiders already loved to the real world: whether it's <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/valentino-garavani-design-signatures-red-leopard-print" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Valentino</a>'s couture moods, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/dior-fall-winter-2021-mizza-bricard-leopard" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dior</a>'s laces, or&mdash;as social networks were quick to point out and compare&mdash;the overuse of colors and prints by <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/christopher-john-rogers-tiffany-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Christopher John Rogers</a>, New York's latest fashion favorite.&nbsp;
