Rihanna Finally Arrives at the Met Gala
Rihanna's red carpet look isn't her only statement-making moment of the night—she's also hosting the Met Gala's official after party.
Rihanna and boyfriend A$AP Rocky were the final celebrities to hit the Met Gala red carpet, and they saved the best for last. Rihanna opted for a dramatic black Balenciaga overcoat designed custom by Demna Gvsalia. Meanwhile, A$AP Rocky joined her wrapped in a patchwork quilt by ERL.
In addition to attending the event, Rihanna will host the official 2021 Met Gala after party. The star made the announcement earlier this week, posting an Instagram story of the invite with the caption, "If you planning a MET Ball after party…………don’t" written over the top.
Rihanna's own work will be on view in the Met's exhibition In America: A Lexicon of American Fashion making her the first pop star to have her designs exhibited in the museum. Her Savage x Fenty lingerie Savage Not Sorry Lace Bodysuit and Commitment Issues Fishnet Body Stocking are now officially a part of the Met's permanent collection.
The "Needed Me" singer has reached icon status at the Met Gala, creating unforgettable fashion moments like her golden Guo Pei cape, avant garde Comme des Garçons dress, and Margiela papal ensemble from 2018.
