<p>Every year, designers set the tone for what we&rsquo;ll be wearing for seasons to come. (That <em>Devil Wears Prada </em>cerulean scene really has some truth to it.) After <a href="https://lofficielusa.com/tags/nyfw">New York Fashion Week</a>&rsquo;s close&mdash;where designers like <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/thom-browne-fall-winter-2025-review">Thom Browne</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/carolina-herrera-fall-winter-2025-review">Carolina Herrera</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/calvin-klein-fall-winter-2025">Calvin Klein</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/anna-sui-fall-winter-2025-review">Anna Sui</a>, and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/sergio-hudson-fall-winter-2025-review">Sergio Hudson</a>&nbsp;showed&mdash;color trends for the year ahead are taking shape.</p>
<p>In style, there seems to be a consensus in coming out of more muted colors and neutrals brought on by early days of the pandemic&mdash;yes, we&rsquo;re still seeing its effects. It&rsquo;s not exactly dopamine dressing (another pandemic color trend) on the runway now, but a more sophisticate use of color (which was especially strong in <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/christopher-john-rogers-fall-winter-2025-review">Christopher John Rogers</a>&rsquo; collection). The new, trending color palettes encourage creativity and exploration of personal style. NYFW saw a range of colors from coffee tones and moody grays to jewel tones and primrose pinks. The trending colors this season might not be for everyone, but each encourages a bit of sartorial experimentation.</p>
<p>Every year, NYFW promises to transform fashion by offering new ideas. This season saw its typical blend of functionality with style, which influences which colors are most popular, too. There are new iterations of neutral hues, as well as more daring chromatic combinations. The trends are taking off and the wardrobes for 2025 will be playfully versatile with unique styles in vibrant yet sophisticated colors. Bold textures and patterns graced the runways, too, and fashion aficionados might notice that designers are increasingly playing with animal prints as a vehicle for sophisticated edge.</p>

<p>Coffee tones are a classic staple color to have handy. These showed up at Diotima, Kallmeyer, Calvin Klein, Collina Strada, Romeo Hunte, and Coach. From knitwear to trousers, they offered a variety of styling choices to include in your 2025 capsule wardrobe.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">Amethyst</h2>

<p>A major color trend on recent runways of revolves around jewel tones, and, specifically, amethyst. The color promises to add drama and sophistication. Houses like The Blonds, Altuzarra, Bibhu Mohapatra, and Ulla Johnson dramatized the catwalk with designs that featured this deep hue.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">Red Velvet</h2>

<p>To create a sultry, elegant feel to their collections, designers are turning to daring hues of red. Tia Adeola, Kate Hundley, Carolina Herrera, and Sergio Hudson embraced red velvet colors through classic silhouettes like suiting and fur coats.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">Moody Grays</h2>

<p>It doesn't matter what anyone says, gray isn't a boring color. It's rather sleek and decadent, which can be explored through its various shades. Thom Browne, Michael Kors, and Luar certainly saw the appeal in this color, as their collections were infused with moody tones of gray to create unique silhouettes with the classic color.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">Animalia</h2>

<p>Labels like Theophilio, Khaite, Tory Burch, A. Potts, and Brandon Maxwell drew inspiration from the animal kingdom for Fall/Winter 2025 collections. Not only was animal print featured throughout the clothes, but accessories like handbags and boots with it had their time to shine on the runway, too.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">Primrose Pink</h2>

<p>The specific shade of pink that designers Sandy Liang, Aknvas, and Tibi are proposing isn't a vibrant, <em>Barbie </em>pink, but rather a soft, delicate hue. The primrose-reminiscent shade harmoniously balances any look, be it in a cozy cashmere sweater or a floor-length tulle gown.</p>

<p>Prabal Gurung, Lapointe, Christian Cowan, PH5, and Christopher John Rogers have spoken through their clothes: A vibrant key lime pie will be a color trend dominating 2025. The color was spotted in fur coats, mini dresses, long skirts, more. Some may avoid splashy hues in autumnal clothes, but that's poised to change this year.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">Cobalt</h2>

<p>LaQuan Smith, Christian Siriano, Carolina Herrera, and Alejandra Alonso shared a thread: their use of cobalt blue. There's an otherworldly elegance to this color that elevated their collections thanks to its inviting and opulent character.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">Forest Greens</h2>

<p>Zankov, TWP, Anna Sui, and Kim Shui revitalized forest-feeling colors within their designs featuring elegant coats, scarves, knitwear, and silk dresses. It's a chic chromatic family that's never out of style, especially not in 2025.</p>
