L'OFFICIEL celebrates the Homeland actress' birthday by looking at her early path to career success.

At only 15, a young Claire Danes and her parents left the SoHo loft she grew up in and moved to Hollywood so she could pursue acting full-time. In 1994, she landed her breakout role in the TV series <a href="http://lofficielusa.com/film-tv/12-most-iconic-jared-leto-roles-movies-tv-joker" target="_blank" rel="noopener">My So-Called Life</a>. While it only aired for a single season, the show gained a large cult following and Danes received a Golden Globe award for her performance.

After often being called a “young Meryl Streep,” the two actresses star as mother and daughter in the 2002 film “The Hours.”

In 2003, Danes begins dating actor Billy Crudup, which causes quite the scandal as it sparks his breakup with his then-partner Mary-Louise Parker, who is seven months pregnant with his child. They broke up three years later.

In 2006, she meets actor Hugh Dancy while making their film “Evening.” The two later married in 2009 and have two children together.
