From finding love and dreams of OnlyFans to drug-ridden deliveries, Episode 1 dives into every desire down to the bone&mdash;ending with plot lines more troubled than even characters may know.

Four years following Season 2's hiatus from Euphoria, we're met again with the antics of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/euphoria-season-3-cast-first-look-preview-trailer-sydney-sweeney-zendaya-jacob-elordi-release-date-cancelled-controversy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Los Angeles&rsquo; finest</a> going back to what they know best for Season 3: chaos, but this time, not without a little conviction.

<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/euphoria-season-3-premiere-cast-red-carpet-looks-zendaya-alexa-demie-jacob-elordi-hunter-schafer-sydney-sweeney-release-date-plot" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Euphoria</a> Season 3, Episode 1, opens with Rue (quite literally) stuck in Mexico, with the aid of a gaggle of men trying to free her from a muddy ditch. We then watch Rue fly through the desert pre-drug deal, as Rue's beater gets stuck attempting to maneuver it over a ramp to cross the border. Eventually, leaving it teetering at the top, before heading over with nothing but a drug-filled duffel in tow.
Cut to the next morning, Rue is awoken in a barn thanks to the likes of a little girl offering her a glass of milk. Rue says it's the best she&rsquo;s ever had, before learning it&rsquo;s from the udders of Dahlia, the family&rsquo;s cow.
Rue crashes with this conservative Christian family, who are under the impression that she is there to write about &ldquo;border-crossing evil&rdquo; for her college newspaper. Following a homey farewell, Daisy&mdash;one of the daughters of the family&mdash;is isolated from the digital world, and Rue admits that she would trade places with her in a heartbeat. Taking a Greyhound back to California, the audience receives a flashback of druglord Laurie and her posse threatening Rue over the $10,000 she is owed from season 2&rsquo;s suitcase-gate, and because of interest, the amount has been bumped to over $43 million (we're still unsure how she got to this conclusion). However, Laurie settles on $100,000. And that is how Rue became Laurie&rsquo;s drug mule.

Moreover, we witness Rue bodypacking, AKA, swallowing golfball-sized balloons filled with fentanyl, in order to complete the smuggling mission with pseudo-business partner, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/chloe-cherry-euphoria-season-2-faye-porn-star" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Faye</a>, in which the duo successfully completes, but not without a tense border search. Upon Rue&rsquo;s arrival, she is told she&rsquo;s found something she&rsquo;s finally good at.
In addition to her drug-related doings, Rue Ubers on the side. Additionally, we see the reunion of Rue and Lexi Howard, in which Lexi works as an assistant on a nighttime soap opera and should call Fezco, who&rsquo;s been sentenced to 30 years in prison. On the other hand, her sister Cassie lives in a right-wing suburban bubble, hoping to achieve TikTok fame. The scene opens with Cassie shaking her tail on a personalized doggy house, filmed by a maid and a makeshift videographer, before Nate Jacobs walks in to label his fianc&eacute;e a prostitute.&nbsp;Nate himself, who has taken over his dad&rsquo;s construction company business, is currently building a retirement center.
With a wedding on the horizon, Cassie floats the idea of&nbsp;OnlyFans to support it. Instead of porn, Cassie would offer personalized messages, with a vague Jules mention of her career as a sugar baby. Maddy Perez works as a talent agent, representing influencers and actors, and Rue meets with her sponsor, Ali, talking all things Bible, where Rue can't help but mention the family she met in El Paso.

Thereafter, we see the drug operation of Laurie&rsquo;s ring make way underneath a barn, where Rue is assigned a run. Rue drives into a garage as the door ominously shuts behind her, and asks to use the restroom of an otherwise unsuspecting pimp&rsquo;s house, as Rue accidentally barges into a model tying her suit. Next, Rue enters the pool where she meets Alamo, a stripclub owner.
The scene cuts to Cassie and Nate eating over a heavily candlelit dinner, where Cassie proposes OnlyFans to pay for her florals, in which Nate attempts to shut it down, before being insulted by Cassie's attitude toward his lack of funds, and eventually agrees to Cassie&rsquo;s schemes, under his conditions.
Cut to the model who Rue met from before, Tish, who is found on the floor of a bedroom, lying flat with foam dripping from her mouth, before Alamo&rsquo;s team realizes the pills she took were laced with fentanyl. Rue is questioned, but then explains her less-than-favorable situation with Laurie to the team, believing that Alamo and she were brought together by God himself. Finally, a comment of reinvention is made, before Alamo shoots an apple off of Rue&rsquo;s head, with the episode ending in an eruption of laughter from Rue.
Episode 1 delves into adulthood, while these so-called grown-ups are just as problematic as they were in high school. Themes of God, acting on desire, and new beginnings are just the start of this season. Stay tuned for L'OFFICIEL's weekly episode recaps.
