Lily Collins returns as everyone's favorite faux-French fashion girl this December.

When titular character Emily from <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/emily-in-paris-netflix-online-store-season-2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Emily In Paris </a>first graced our screens, she was undeniably lost, confused, and more than a little out of place. She knew no French. She wasn't great at her job. Her love life was a mess.&nbsp;
In Season 2, releasing on Wednesday, showrunner Darren Star promises that our favorite faux-French fashion girl will be a bit more evolved. "She's going to be more of a part of the fabric of the world she's living in. She'll be more of a resident of the city," he told <a href="https://www.oprahdaily.com/entertainment/a34150827/emily-in-paris-season-2-release-date-cast-news/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Oprah Daily</a>. "She'll have her feet on the ground a little more. She's making a life there."
On November 11 of last year, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/lily-collins-claps-back-at-critics-optimistic-emily-in-paris-netflix-character" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Emily In Paris</a> was first confirmed to be making a comeback via an internal memo sent out by Emily's boss Sylvie Grateau. "Nous sommes d&eacute;sol&eacute;es! We are writing to regrettably inform you that Emily Cooper will need to remain in Paris for an extended period of time," read the letter.&nbsp;

In May, the cast began production on the second season in the South of France&mdash;it seems Emily will be heading to sunny Saint-Tropez for new adventures. While a number of other series have chosen to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, including the forthcoming <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/sex-and-the-city-reboot-teaser-trailer-premiere-date-hbo-max" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sex and the City</a> reboot, the topic will not be included in Emily In Paris.&nbsp;
Early shots from the set show star <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/lily-collins-wedding-dress-charlie-mcdowell-married" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lily Collins</a> in her character's trademark eccentric fashion, along with best friend Mindy Chen, played by recent L'OFFICIEL cover star <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/ashley-park-emily-in-paris-season-2-mindy-movies-tv" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ashley Park</a>. Sweeping coats, fancy updos, and ruffled dresses all make appearances. Though, with her slicked back hair and backless gowns, this season's style may reflect Emily's newfound maturity. Perhaps we'll be wishing her bucket hats and crop tops "adeiu."

While we of course don't know everything that's in store for the characters, some hints have been put out. Lucas Bravo, who plays Gabriel on the show, talked to <a href="https://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/celebs/a34314614/lucas-bravo-gabriel-emily-in-paris-interview/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cosmopolitan</a> about a potential love connection between Emily and Camille. "I think Darren wants this second season to be really open-minded," he told the magazine.&nbsp;
<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/cartier-lily-collins-face-of-clash-unlimited-jewelry-collection-double-c-bag" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Collins</a> also commented on the potential for a queer relationship in Season 2. &ldquo;There are tons of little moments where you&rsquo;re like, &lsquo;&hellip;Does Camille like Emily?&rsquo; You can&rsquo;t really get a vibe, and I feel like that ambiguity is what keeps Emily intrigued...I feel like the next season will only create more love triangle drama, although maybe Emily will have a little bit of a stronger handle on the situation," she told <a href="https://www.vogue.co.uk/arts-and-lifestyle/article/lily-collins-emily-in-paris-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vogue UK</a>.&nbsp;

A few new faces will also be joining the cast for the show's second outing. Netflix announced via <a href="https://twitter.com/netflixqueue/status/1396846635540357122" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter</a> that, "<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/what-to-know-about-2021-tony-awards-broadway" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeremy O. Harris</a> will play an iconic fashion designer, Lucien Laviscount joins as a Brit who gets under Emily&rsquo;s skin before she starts to like sarcastic charm, and Arnaud Binard guest stars as the party boy owner of a popular Saint Tropez nightclub."
Star revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair that, perhaps to the delight of fans, Emily will be speaking more French in the upcoming season. "Because the show was done for an American network initially, I didn&rsquo;t know how much French with subtitles an American audience was going to tolerate,&rdquo; he told&nbsp;<a class="body-link" href="https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2021/08/awards-insider-darren-star-emily-in-paris-qa" target="_blank" data-vars-ga-outbound-link="https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2021/08/awards-insider-darren-star-emily-in-paris-qa" rel="noopener">Vanity Fair</a>. &ldquo;Knowing that we&rsquo;re reaching a global audience, there&rsquo;s a lot more subtitled content.&rdquo;
