Hey there Gossip Girl fans, L'OFFICIEL here with the latest on Season 2. After a drama-packed Season 1, our favorite Upper East Siders are returning to HBO Max for a new season. As the students of Constance Billard and St. Jude continue to get up to no good, Gossip Girl is ready to keep exposing the dirty details. Here's everything we know so far about what's in store for the next chapter in the lives of the Gossip Girl crew.

When will it come out?

Filming for Season 2 began on February 4, and continued on throughout the summer. Show creator Joshua Safran has revealed an official release date and we will be back on the Met steps on Dec. 1, exclusively on HBO Max. Season 2 will also run on a different structure compared to the first, where it will be one continuous season instead of being split up into two parts.

Who's in the new season?

The whole main cast will return for the new season. Jordan Alexander as Julien, Savannah Smith as Monet, Zion Moreno as Luna, Eli Brown as Obie, Whitney Peak as Zoya, Thomas Doherty as Max, Evan Mock as Aki, and Emily Alyn Lind as Audrey have all been  confirmed for their returns and were spotted shooting the new season across New York City and posting TikToks together on set.

Near the end of first season we were introduced to Shan (Grace Duah), a bit of a wild child who became quick friends with Zoya. It seems like we will be getting a lot more of her considering she has been confirmed of being bumped up as a series regular. No other mentions of any new additions to the cast has been made, but we wouldn't be surprised if a new "Queen B" stepped into the show.

What will happen?

Based on the trailer, it appears that Season 2 will pick up from where Season 1 left off. Last we saw, Julien was still recovering from the backlash she received from her dad's Me Too scandal. Zoya was beginning to find her footing and trying to make it on her own outside of the elite world of her half-sister. Audrey, Aki, and Max had seemed to left things on a positive note after becoming an official throuple, but looks like they are reaching troubled waters. The most gossip-worthy cliffhanger is Monet's plot to usurp Julien and take the throne for herself, with Luna as a loyal supporter.

Of course on the Upper East Side, nothing is as simple as it may appear. Through all the personal trial and tribulations each character will be going through, we are sure to be in for more scandal, more sex, and more mystery.

Will we get more cameos?

Evan Mock and Emily Lind.

We all love a good cameo, and Season 2 will have one the best ones any Upper East sider could have asked for. The pettiest of them all, Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) will be returning to cause more mayhem on the already scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite. Did you miss her? Because she sure missed you.

With the immense chaotic energy that Sparks brought to the original series, it will be quite the scene to see how that plays out with the new elite. Beyond Sparks, there haven't been any other confirmed cameo appearances. However, Leighton Meester recently said she'd be open to making a reappearance. We can only hope that the arrival of Season 2 means we'll get to see Serena, Blair, Chuck, Nate, and Dan back in action.

Will there be any other surprises?

While Gossip Girl is synonymous with iconic locations in New York City—hello, Met steps— it looks like the cast is going abroad. First, the cast began posting multiple Instagram stories of themselves in Rome. Later, the cast was photographed walking around the Italian city eating gelato. At around the same time, the showrunner shared an Instagram story of Brown, Mock, and Lind with the caption, "Season Wrap on these wonderful humans." It's safe to say from the picturesque background that they were not in New York City.
