New Film to Chronicle Jackie Kennedy's Secret Love Story
Before she married Aristotle Onassis in 1968, Jackie Kennedy had a brief romance with a British lord.
Jackie Kennedy is known for many things, from her stunning White House style to her dynastic family line. However, since her marriage to JFK, her love life has also drawn attention from the media and fans around the world over the years.
She married her first husband John F. Kennedy in 1953, just seven years before he took office as President of the United States. After his tragic assassination in 1963, she found a new love story with Greek businessman Aristotle Onassis.
However, one of the former First Lady's little-known romances prior to her second marriage will be the subject of an upcoming film. Dubbed 37 Heavens, the project, featuring Gemma Arterton in the role of Jackie, will tell the story of her relationship with Lord Harlech (played by Guy Pearce), a British diplomat who accompanied her on an official mission to Cambodia in 1967.
Although the couple never spoke publicly about their relationship, sources recall that Lord Harlech even proposed to Jackie, but was refused in 1968. In the end, she married Onassis in October 1968 while Harlech married American socialite Pamela Colin in 1969 at a ceremony attended by Princess Margaret.
Filming on the new production is expected to begin in early 2022.
