John Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette's Love Story to Become a TV Show
John Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette formed one of the most stylish couples of the 90s.
Few couples have been more known for their elegance than John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. The duo was one of the most followed couples of the '90s, between charity events and red carpets. John was internationally known from an early age as the son of JFK and Jacqueline Kennedy.
Bessette was known in the fashion world not only for her style, but also for her work as designer Calvin Klein's publicist. Many people at the time commented that she, like her mother-in-law, was an heiress with impeccable style. Unfortunately, a tragic accident off the coast of Martha's Vineyard took both of their lives in July 1999.
However, more than 20 years later, the love story that captured a nation will be told in a new TV series. Headed by Ryan Murphy, famous for other productions such as Halston and American Horror Story, the project has been dubbed American Love Story and will explore "the sweeping true love stories that captured the world's attention."
Season 1's script will follow the entire course of John and Carolyn's relationship: from their early dating life, media pressures, their intimate 1996 wedding, and the devastating plane crash that took their lives.
Simultaneous with the romance series, Murphy also announced two more shows in the works. One will open the doors on the famous Studio 54, a nightclub that hosted the best night parties in New York in the 70s and 80s, with regulars like Bianca Jagger and Andy Warhol. The second, titled American Sports Story, will show the life, career, and death of football player Aaron Hernandez, a rising star on the New England Patriots who was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison before committing suicide in 2017.
