In case you missed it, Nouvelle Vague is the film that inspired the celebrity haircut heard round the world: Deutch's cropped, dramatic blonde pixie cut. It wasn't just a new look that Deutch was leaning into, though. In reality, she was beginning her transformation into the legendary actress Jean Seberg for the Richard Linklater-directed film, which details the filming of Jean-Luc Godard's Breathless during the French New Wave film movement. In the film, a comedy-drama, Deutch's Seberg is opposite Aubry Dullin's Jean-Paul Belmondo and Guillaume Marbeck's Godard. 
The film, shot in black-and-white and entirely in French, received plenty of critical acclaim&mdash;plus, an 11-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival when it premiered.&nbsp;

If there's one show from recent years that truly needs no introduction, it's&nbsp;The Politician. Iconic, controversial, but undeniably hilarious, the show follows a student (Ben Platt) as he attempts to win the student body class president to help him get into Harvard. Deutch plays a quirky, eccentric student named Infinity Jackson, who was Platt's character's former running mate-turned sort-of faux climate activist. 
With her magnetic onscreen presence, Deutch is no doubt a shining gem of this series, but as you watch, you'll find yourself equally engrossed in all of its scenes.&nbsp;

Set It Up&nbsp;(2018)

Any romcom buff who has any stake in the game has no doubt seen Set It Up by now&mdash;if not for the romcom element, then at least for the star-studded cast (Lucy Liu, Deutch, and Glen Powell). In the film, Deutch plays Liu's overworked assistant who finds herself in cahoots with another assistant (Powell) as the pair tries to set up their bosses with one another.
In the process, chaos and heartbreak ensue, but by the end of the film, Deutch and Powell's characters drift towards one another instead, leaving audiences with one satisfying, romantic finish to the truly funny film.&nbsp;

In&nbsp;Before I Fall, Deutch takes on the role of Samantha Kingston, a social-climbing high schooler whose world is quickly turned upside down when she falls into a time loop. In order to get out of it, she must reckon with various components of her recent past, including her abusive, bullying friends and her relationship to a boy she finds she doesn't truly love.
The film, directed by Ry Russo-Young and adapted from Lauren Oliver's novel of the same name, is dark, suspenseful, and dramatic, so it's no surprise that it received plenty of acclaim after it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.&nbsp;
