Is Kanye West Dropping a New Album?

Kanye West fans are on the edge of their seats as rumors build that his new album is on its way. Whispers surfaced yesterday that the rapper held an exclusive listening party for the record in Las Vegas on Sunday after internet star Justin Laboy tweeted that West previewed the album for him and basketball star Kevin Durant. Laboy wrote, “The production is light years ahead of it’s time, and the bars sound like he’s broke & hungry trying to get signed again. Any artist who plan on dropping soon should just push it back."

According to Laboy, the album is expected this week. He said, "Kanye West album is really done. When it drops this week, we probably not going to listen to anything else for a while.. Let me go enjoy all the current artist I’m listening to until then. God bless."

Following the series of tweets, fans shared photos of themselves outside the venue where the listening party was allegedly held as well as clips from inside the event.

Teddy Walton, a music producer who has worked with Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar, also took to social media to discuss the project. He tweeted, "Honestly can’t wait till @kanyewest drop,” he wrote. “& I’m glad to be apart of history… See y’all soon.”

Last year, West had told fans a new album that was expected to be released on July 24. However, the hasty announcement followed a series of erratic tweets about the Kardashian family and gave fans pause as to the reality of the album's release. Many called the episode a "meltdown," while others attributed it to West's bipolar disorder.
