Khalid Releases New Song "Talk"
L'Officiel USA's Spring 2019 cover star teamed up with Disclosure to produce the fire track.
Unsurprisingly, the internet knew about L'Officiel cover star Khalid’s new song before any other source. The much-anticipated song, “TALK,” comes after several weeks of teasing, with the R&B singer posting a short video of the song playing inside of a car on Twitter on January 27th, spurring fan reactions begging for a drop. Now in February and a few weeks out from the hysteria the post ensued, fans are no less anxious to hear what they expect to be Khalid’s newest masterpiece.
Khalid took to Instagram on Monday to announce that he would be releasing a new single this coming Thursday, succinctly writing “TALK THURSDAY ;).” This may seem straightforward enough, but the reminder of what had yet to come fueled fans’ enthusiastic anticipation of Khalid’s newest musical project.
What is presumably the chorus played on loop, with Khalid crooning, “Can we just talk, can we just talk, talk about where we’re going?” The music was overlayed on a mesmerizing graphic of a wolf and flames slowly rocking side to side, with the title of the single hovering just above the intriguing album art.
In the newly released song, Khalid takes a fresh approach to his music as well lyricism, offering his personal feelings about relationships and the common error of escalating things too quickly. Khalid teams with Disclosure to create an upbeat and mesmerizing tune that explores more emotional depths than the typical R&B track, with Khalid's genuine feelings pouring out through each word.
