Mariah Carey Declares the Start of the Holiday Season
'Tis the season! Mariah Carey-mas has begun.
When the clock struck midnight on October 31, Mariah Carey officially announced the end of Halloween and the start of Christmas.
In a new TikTok video shared across her social media platforms, the singer rings in the holiday season by smashing three carved pumpkins that read "It's Not Time" with a candy cane bat and busting out the Christmas presents. And as she kicks off the mistletoe holiday, her anthem "All I Want for Christmas" plays in the background.
She captioned the video, "Ready? Let’s go! #MariahSZN."
In the clip, Carey appears a glittering Santa Claus bodysuit as she basks in the ornaments and festive decorations surrounding her. The camera also catches a shot of a present labeled, "11/5," which fans believe may indicate another surprise coming from the "Obsessed" singer this Friday.
"It's time!!!" the video concludes. "To smash that pumpkin and treat it as pie... cause we still gotta get through Thanksgiving!!!"
Last year, Carey's iconic Christmas song broke the Spotify record for most single-day streams with 17.223 million. The record was recently surpassed by Adele's new single "Easy on Me."
