Pink Shows Love for Britney Spears by Changing Lyrics Amid Spears' Divorce
The singer subtly changed the lyrics in the hit song "Don't Let Me Go" on her tour, in which the lyrics name drops Britney Spears.
While TMZ reported Britney Spears has little to no one in her corner amid her ongoing divorce from Sam Asghari, singer Pink would say otherwise.
During her tour stop in Detroit, Pink subtly changed the lyric to her song "Don’t Let Me Get Me," which includes a line name-dropping Spears. The original lyric reads, “Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears,” but she instead sang, “sweet Britney Spears."
The rest of the verse continued with, "She’s so pretty. That just ain’t me,” as Pink was met with a shout of support from the audience.
On Wednesday, news broke that Spears is separating from Sam Asghari, the latter of which has already filed for divorce, according to TMZ. The reason for their divorce is due to cheating allegations as Asghari "confronted Spears about stepping out on him," according to sources who spoke to TMZ.
While news of their divorce has been all the gossip, what has really made headlines is the ongoing prenup drama. According to an insider who spoke to Page Six, Asghari is "attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid."
Per a source that spoke to US Weekly, the prenup states that "Asghari will receive $1 million per every two years of their marriage, with a cap at $10 million after 15 years."
Additionally, "Asghari also waived any claims to Spears’ music catalog and his name isn’t on the deed of their shared home; instead, the pair agreed to put the house into a limited liability company or LLC."
On Thursday, Asghari has finally spoken out for the first time since the file for divorce was revealed. On his Instagram story, he wrote, "After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Shit happens. Asking for privacy seems ridiculous so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful."
The claims that Asghari is seeking to contest the prenup agreement has since been denied by Asghari's representative Brandon Cohen.
"There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos," Cohen told The Hollywood Reporter. "However, all these claims are false, and no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be. Sam has always and will always support her."
