Rumor has it "Lose You to Love Me" is about the multitalented musician's relationship with Justin Bieber.

In case you haven&#39;t heard the news, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/selena-gomez-puma-cali-remix-campaign-2019">Selena Gomez</a> is BACK. The 27-year-old icon just dropped a new song (and video!), &quot;Lose You to Love Me,&quot; which&nbsp;appears to be a cathartic release for the artist, as she commented on Twitter via a vulnerable iPhone note (the only way to make a social media confession in 2019).

&quot;See, the enemy keeps trying to tear me down and it&#39;s just not gonna happen,&quot; Gomez explained after expressing how she&#39;s been using faith to guide her through uncharted territory. &quot;Not today. Not the next.&quot;&nbsp;

The single is rumored to be <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop%20culture/justin-bieber-jonas-brothers-shirt-celebrity-style-2019">Bieber</a>-inspired, with pointed lyrics like,&nbsp;&quot;set fire to my purpose / and I let it burn,&quot; Purpose,&nbsp;Bieber&#39;s 2015 album, was heavily inspired by his relationship with Gomez, and&nbsp;&quot;in two months, you replaced us,&quot; hinting at their breakup and Bieber&#39;s swift engagement to his now-wife <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/10-things-you-didnt-know-hailey-baldwin">Hailey Baldwin</a>. After several years of being on-and-off-again, Gomez and Bieber briefly reconnected in 2017 but ended things in March of 2018. The Biebers got engaged in July of 2018, legally married two months later, and held a <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop%20culture/hailey-bieber-wedding-dress-2019">star-studded ceremony</a> in South Carolina&nbsp;just a few weeks back. In the meantime, Gomez has been focusing on herself both personally and professionally, and now she is ready to mark a new era.
