L’OFFICIEL, FASHION MEDIA COMPANY PART OF AMTD IDEA, ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ITS DIGITAL COUTURE STUDIO, WITH A FIRST CAPSULE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH DRESSX, THE LARGEST METAFASHION RETAILER
PRESS RELEASE - JUNE 7th 2022
L’OFFICIEL, the centennial fashion and luxury media company led by Hong Kong investment group AMTD Idea, announced today the launch of their Digital Couture Studio, a research-based virtual style studio for metaversial wearables, with a first capsule collection in collaboration with DRESSX, the largest international digital fashion retailer. The collaboration marks the launch of the magazine’s upcoming Metaverse Issue.
The Paris-based fashion magazine & media company L’OFFICIEL builds its legacy upon centennial fashion archives, with more than 100.000 fashion archive images from the last 100 years. In its move towards Web3, L’OFFICIEL will bring these archives to a new metaversial dimension by allowing the historic material to become a source for creating new, future-forward fashion.
For its first Digital Couture drop, L’OFFICIEL partnered with DRESSX, whose expertise in digital fashion design allowed blending the media company’s fashion archive images of the past into digital wearables for the future.
This Couture Capsule Collection in collaboration with DRESSX consists of 3 hybrid looks, designed by blending the first-ever looks to be published in L’OFFICIEL from top traditional couturiers with help from DRESSX’s creators and technology, into a digital-first novelty—sold as limited edition DRESSX metalooks.
Starring on the cover of L’OFFICIEL’s upcoming June Metaverse Issue is one of the new virtual looks of the Couture Capsule Collection, a creative blend between a look by Christian Dior portrayed in 1947 for L’OFFICIEL n° 307, a look by Cristóbal Balenciaga portrayed in 1938 for L’OFFICIEL n° 206 and a look by Jeanne Lanvin portrayed in 1922 for L’OFFICIEL n° 10.
