The writer-activist Maya Angelou fought for equality throughout her life and will be honored posthumously in a limited edition barbie.

<p>The beloved American poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou, who passed away in May 2014,&nbsp;is being honored by <a href="https://barbie.mattel.com/shop/en-us/ba/barbie-inspiring-women-maya-angelou-doll-gyh04">Mattel</a> with her own <a href="https://www.revistalofficiel.com.br/pop-culture/aos-50-anos-claudia-schiffer-ganha-linha-da-barbie-com-a-sua-cara">Barbie</a> doll.</p>

<p>The novelty includes accessories and includes a gold ring, watch, earrings, bracelet, and a copy of her memoir <em>I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings</em>.</p>

Anthony, and Ella Fitzgerald.</p>

<p>Angelou is remembered for her activism and extraordinary literary talent. A recipient&nbsp;of&nbsp;the Presidential Medal of Honor, Dr. Angelou was nominated for the National Book Award for her 1970 autobiography. In 1993, she became the first African American and poet to speak at the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/joe-biden-kamala-harris-families-inauguration-day-fashion">US Presidential Inauguration</a>.</p>
