The Euphoria star died due to an accidental overdose.

When Lisa Cloud hugged her son before he went to bed, she didn't know that was the last time she would see him alive. On July 31, the world was thrown into unexpected shock as headlines emerged that Euphoria actor <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/euphoria-angus-cloud-loves-new-york" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Angus Cloud</a> was dead. A beloved character on the show and equally beloved in real life, it was an untimely passing no one saw coming.
In a <a href="https://people.com/euphoria-angus-cloud-mom-loved-ones-share-final-days-addiction-struggles-exclusive-7973158" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recent interview with People</a>, Lisa reveals Cloud's last words. "I love you, mama. You&rsquo;re the best," Cloud said before hugging her. "I&rsquo;ll see you in the morning."
Morning comes, and Lisa finds her son slumped over his desk for a second thinking he fell asleep while making art until realizing something was immediately wrong.&nbsp;
"I started shaking him and screaming. I pushed him hard, and he fell on the floor. I tried to resuscitate him &mdash; mouth to mouth &mdash; and I was compressing him," <a href="https://people.com/euphoria-angus-cloud-mom-loved-ones-share-final-days-addiction-struggles-exclusive-7973158" target="_blank" rel="noopener">she said</a>. "I was screaming for my neighbor because I didn't want to leave him and call 911, and I just kept at it until they took him away."
What happened to Cloud? Officials have confirmed that the actor died from an accidental overdose, not a suicide as it was first believed. "Fentanyl, benzodiazepines &mdash; depressant drugs often used to treat conditions such as anxiety disorders, insomnia and seizures &mdash; and cocaine and methamphetamine were found in his system," <a href="https://people.com/euphoria-angus-cloud-mom-loved-ones-share-final-days-addiction-struggles-exclusive-7973158" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to People</a>.

"It was predominantly the central nervous system depressants. It started to slow his heart and slow his breathing," Lisa said. "He got tired from lack of oxygen. Everything just slowed down, and eventually his heart stopped and he went to sleep. But he didn't kill himself.&rdquo;
Two months before Cloud died, his father Conor Hickey had died from cancer. It was revealed by close family and friends that Cloud was struggling with severe grief due to his father's passing, <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/07/31/euphoria-star-angus-cloud-dead-dies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">per TMZ</a>. 
After news of Cloud's death circled the internet, his <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/everything-we-know-euphoria-season-3-zendaya-plot-trailer-spoilers-cast-release-date" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Euphoria</a> co-stars <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/angus-cloud-death-celebrity-reactions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">were quick to give their respects</a>, posting sad but kind words on their respective social media platforms.
<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/zendaya-most-glamorous-fashion-style-outfits-of-all-time" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zendaya</a>&nbsp;wrote a lengthy tribute on&nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Cvaft3SL4Zr/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram</a>, sharing, "Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor). I&rsquo;m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I&rsquo;m smiling now just thinking of it) I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love&hellip;'they could light up any room they entered' but boy let me tell you, he was the best at it. I&rsquo;d like to remember him that way. For all of the boundless light, love and joy he always managed to give us. I&rsquo;ll cherish every moment."
<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/sydney-sweeney-bikini-pictures" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sydney Sweeney</a> also gives a lengthy, heartfelt tribute on Instagram, writing, "Angus you were an open soul, with the kindest heart, and you filled every room with laughter. This is the hardest thing ive ever had to post, and im struggling to find all the words. You will be missed more than you know, but I'm so blessed to have known you in this lifetime, and I'm sure everyone who has ever met you feels the same. This heartache is real and I wish we could've had one more hug and 711 run. All my love is with you."
