Many A-listers have gotten down on one knee this year, and we need all the details. From Emma Roberts to Gabbriette Bechtel, L’OFFICIEL is keeping track of every celebrity engagement of 2024 so far.
Emma Roberts and Cody John
On July 16, Emma Roberts announced that she and her now fiancé, Cody John, are officially engaged. The pair, who have kept details about their relationship rather private, posed for an adorable photo posted on Instagram to celebrate the news.
“Putting this here before my mom tells everyone,” Roberts captioned the photo.
In the photo, the American Horror Story actress is seen smiling and hugging John with her engagement ring appearing to be a large cushion-cut stone.
Gabbriette Bechtel and Matty Healy
In September 2023, The 1975 singer and model were photographed kissing in New York. Nine months later, on June 11, Gabbriette had everyone talking after posting a story of her left hand with a huge custom made halo black diamond on a pavé band while at a Charli XCX show.
She captioned the photo with, “MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT.”
The model also tagged Matty, who then went on to repost the picture. The next morning, Healy’s mom, Denise Welch, confirmed the news.
“We couldn't be happier,” Welch said. “She is everything I would want in a daughter in law.”
Phoebe Dynevor and Cameron Fuller
Dynevor debuted her oval-cut diamond engagement ring on the steps of the Met Gala this year. On May 12, the 29-year-old Bridgerton star's fiancé, Cameron Fuller, shared a photo on Instagram which captured Dynevor's candid reaction to his proposal. In the image, the actress can be seen covering her face with her hands, seemingly overcome with emotion, as Fuller, 28, embraces her from behind.
Fuller captioned the engagement post with a simple "💘" which Dynevor reposted on her Instagram Stories.
Ed Westwick and Amy Jackson
Ed Westwick popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, Amy Jackson, during a romantic ski trip in Switzerland.
“Hell YES 💍,” the actor and model captioned pics of the gorgeous proposal in a joint Instagram post with Westwick on Jan. 29.
The Gossip Girl alum then reshared the post to his Instagram Story alongside the caption, “I hit the jackpot xxx.”
Based on Jackson’s photos, Westwick dropped down on one knee on a bridge that the two visited.
Alexa Chung and Tom Sturridge
Model Alexa Chung and actor Tom Sturridge are head over heels for each other. It’s said they are planning a "classy" wedding ceremony during the summer. The pair confirmed they were dating during Wimbledon 2022, when they sat a row in front of Sturridge's ex Sienna Miller, who he shares 11-year-old daughter Marlowe with.
Myha’la and Armando Rivera
Myha’la Herrold and Armando Rivera met in a unique way. During the pandemic, Herrold found herself in an interesting spot. HBO had just released the first season of Industry, and the actress was being flooded with Instagram followers and messages from fans, one of whom was her now fiancé, Armando Rivera. They eventually ended up having a Zoom call after Myha’la agreed to an interview for Rivera’s journalism final and the rest is history.
In a joint Instagram post, the couple posted a photo of their rings with the caption “It’s clipped for the rest of yall! Soz!!! <333 I love you @rivmando forever!”

Rumors of an engagement between Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin date back to December 2020, when the former was seen wearing an emerald ring on that finger. After wearing it on and off in the years since, confirmation of their upcoming nuptials came in March 2024. "They’ve had ups and downs, but now they’re definitely back together now," a source told People, adding that the couple was "going strong.” Johnson was once again spotted flashing the ring in August 2024, putting to rest ongoing rumors of a split between the two.
Brooke Hyland and Brian Thalman
Dance Moms alum Brooke Hyland got engaged to longtime boyfriend, Brian Thalman during a heartfelt proposal in her hometown of Pittsburgh. Thalman presented Hyland with a Brilliant Earth Sydney Perfect Fit ring, featuring an 18K yellow gold band and a 3.25-carat elongated cushion diamond. It seems that the invisible string theory was in full effect for the soon-to-be-married couple. Reflecting on their love story to People, Thalman shared that the couple first met through a mutual connection—Hyland's cousin, who happens to be one of his close friends—while she was living in Austin, Texas. In an Instagram post, Hyland joked, “Learned that he’s almost as tall as me on one knee — here’s to today, tomorrow, & forever after that.”

This summer, Lady Gaga confirmed her engagement to Michael Polansky during a casual conversation with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at the Paris Olympics. In a TikTok video shared by the Prime Minister, Lady Gaga introduced Polansky as "my fiancé, Michael," putting rumors of their engagement to rest. Three-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White proposed to longtime girlfriend, Nina Dobrev.
