Months after the news of Chris Martin's split from Dakota Johnson, the Internet is abuzz after rumors began swirling that Coldplay frontman recently stepped out on a date with Sophie Turner&mdash;who was previously married to Joe Jonas and most recently linked to Peregrine Pearson.&nbsp;
Though the musician is famously private about his romantic life, after spending over two decades in the public eye as the lead singer of one of pop culture's most prominent bands, fans across the world remain curious about his life beyond music.&nbsp;
Without further ado, see Martin's dating history, including his longtime marriage to actress and Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow and his engagement to Johnson.&nbsp;

Though little is known about Martin's seemingly brief relationship with the British events producer, news of their breakup came shortly after Coldplay's debut album came out in 2000.&nbsp;

In November 2002, the Coldplay singer and the actress-business mogul reportedly met backstage at one of the band's concerts. Just a year later, the pair were already hinting at tying the knot in interviews, and a month later, in December 2003, Paltrow and Martin announced that they were expecting their first child&mdash;Apple Martin&mdash;together.
Days later after the pregnancy became public, news broke that the couple had eloped, and were married, as of at least December 2003.&nbsp;
In 2006, they welcomed their son, Moses Martin.&nbsp;
Speaking about his marriage for the first time publicly, Martin told <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2011/10/chris-martin-on-marrying-gwyneth-paltrow-like-winning-the-lottery/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CBS News</a> in 2011 that marrying Paltrow "was like winning the lottery."
In March 2014, the couple shocked the world when they announced they were planning to "consciously uncouple" in a <a href="https://goop.com/wellness/relationships/conscious-uncoupling-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blog post</a> to Paltrow's infamous site, Goop. In the post, they maintained they were still very close platonically, and would continue to co-parent their two children together. For years, Johnson and Martin were among the most iconic celebrity couples in pop culture, despite their relatively private approach to their relationship, and the pair seemed to be well on their way to wedding bells&mdash;they were engaged, after all. Much to their fans' dismay, rumors of a split started in June 2025.&nbsp;
"It feels final this time," a source told&nbsp;<a href="https://people.com/dakota-johnson-chris-martin-break-up-source-exclusive-11748172" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People</a>&nbsp;at the time.&nbsp;
After several more insiders began speaking out, explaining that Johnson and Martin seemed to be looking for different things out of the relationship, the public was forced to finally accept the breakup.&nbsp;
Johnson and Martin were first spotted together at Sushi Park&mdash;the site of many a famous first date&mdash;in Los Angeles, looking cozy together as they enjoyed a low-key dinner in October 2017. Just a month later, Johnson was seen at a Coldplay concert, providing the relationship rumor mill with plenty of fodder. In December 2017, inside sources confirmed that the relationship was, in fact, a relationship, and not just a fling. After Johnson gave an interview in the spring of 2024 talking about Martin's kids and their life as a couple, a source told <a href="https://people.com/chris-martin-and-dakota-johnson-engaged-yeras-ago-says-source-8605805" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People</a> that the pair had actually been engaged for several years, but were simply in no rush to get married.&nbsp;

Chris Martin and Sophie Turner may be Hollywood&rsquo;s newest unexpected pairing. A source told Us Weekly that the two have been &ldquo;going out quite a few times&rdquo; in London, sparking speculation that things have officially crossed into dating territory. The insider also noted that the two actually met a few years back, but timing wasn&rsquo;t aligned. Now, with both Martin and Turner newly single, they&rsquo;re reportedly &ldquo;trying it out&rdquo; &mdash; and apparently, they have a lot more in common than people may assume. While neither has commented publicly, this potential romance could be the next major celebrity storyline everyone&rsquo;s watching.
