6 Facts You Didn’t Know About Yolanda Hadid

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and mother of Gigi and Bella Hadid has been in the spotlight for years. But how much do we really know about the former supermodel?

Yolanda Hadid is no stranger to fame. Her career began at the young age of 16 when Dutch designer Frans Molenaar asked Yolanda to step in for one of his models at a show, leading to her discovery by Eileen Ford and a contract with Ford Models. This opportunity launched her 15-year modeling career, taking her to fashion capitals like Paris, Milan, Sydney, and Tokyo. In 1994, after meeting and marrying Mohamed Hadid, she moved to Los Angeles to start a family that we now know as the iconic Hadid family that has been a driving force in Hollywood and the modeling industry.

From there, Hadid began all sorts of business ventures, appearing in multiple reality shows, including her own, Making A Model. However, she's most known for her time spent on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hillswhere her personality and parenting style were showcased to millions of viewers.

Mohamed and Yolanda got divorced in 2000, after which she married legendary music producer David Foster in 2012, but the two split in 2017. Now she's engaged to construction CEO Joseph Jingoli, and the two live together in Forth Worth, Texas. 

Being in the spotlight for decades is going to make you a controversial figure in pop culture, but that hasn't stopped Hadid. Besides her time being a mom and model, what else do we really know about her? 

Yolanda has a honey bar in her home.

 

In her latest interview with Architectural Digest, she gives a tour of her home and her newest "honey bar," where she collects jars of honey she's purchased over the years while traveling. The idea came from wanting a tequila bar in her home, but her fiancé is 39 years sober, so the honey bar came to life. 

Yolanda has a passion for interior design. 

 

Although fashion had always seemed to be her thing, it is clear from her Architectural Digest interview and from her social media that she is fond of interior design and loves to showcase her home and the design aspects that come along with it. 

Yolanda loves to garden. 

 

With her own garden, she often shows off her homegrown flowers, plants, and more to her 3.7 million Instagram followers, and often makes beautiful bouquets with the flowers. 

Yolanda is a strong advocate for Lyme disease. 

 

After her Lyme disease diagnosis in 2012, Yolanda became a leading advocate for raising awareness about the illness and its devastating impact. Her daughter, Bella Hadid, also struggles with the same illness. 

Yolanda is a published author. 

 

Following her battle with Lyme Disease, Yolanda was inspired to write a memoir of her journey. Entitled, “Believe Me: My Battle with the Invisibility of Lyme Disease,” Hadid used this as a way to further spread information about the disease. 

Yolanda is an equestrian. 

 

Taking a scroll through Yolanda's Instagram, you'll more likely than not run past several posts with horses. Yolanda has always been vocal about instilling a love for horses in her children. In a 2018 Harper's Bazaar interview, she shared that whenever her kids become too focused on their careers, she takes them to reconnect with nature.
