Joe Alwyn Is Reportedly 'Dating and Happy' Following Taylor Swift Breakup
The actor has officially moved on from Taylor Swift and isn't in contact with the singer.
Joe Alwyn has reportedly "moved on" from Taylor Swift. According to a source from People, Alwyn is "dating and happy" and is "not into drama in any way." The actor, of course, had a highly scrutinized relationship with Swift that spanned six years. Throughout their relationship together, Alwyn co-wrote several of Swift's songs, which appear on "Folklore," "Evermore," and "Midnights.
Now that Alwyn has successfully moved on from his prior relationship, the actor is not only dating but is also focused on work while still trying his best to stay out of the limelight.
“Joe loves acting but can’t stand the attention that comes with it. He’s not comfortable in the spotlight," said the source to People.
Alwyn has reportedly been the subject and inspiration behind a few songs in The Tortured Poets Department, notably the track “So Long London," which contains the lyrics "Oh, the tragedy/So long London/You’ll find someone." However, the actor has decided to take a tight-lipped approach when speaking of his ex-girlfriend, as the same source told People that Alwyn "certainly doesn’t talk poorly about her" and that "he was in love with her, and it just didn’t work out."
When the breakup came to light in 2023, many speculated that it may have been due to Alwyn's aversion to the volume of fame and attention Swift had due to her pop icon status.
“They had plenty in common and fell in love in a safe bubble while she was retreating from the world during Reputation. Then the pandemic hit, and they were locked down together and able to continue growing their relationship in this insulated way. But he didn’t really ‘know’ her yet outside of that bubble. Joe has struggled with Taylor’s level of fame and the attention from the public. The differences in their personalities have also become harder to ignore after years together. They’ve grown apart," a source told People back in April 2023, when news of their breakup first broke.
