The Academy Award winner is the new ambassador for the illustrious diamond jeweler.

On October 24, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/de-beers-jewelry-diamonds-new-collection-the-alchemist-of-light-miami-exhibition-party" target="_blank" rel="noopener">De Beers</a> announced that <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/oscars-2020-how-to-stream" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Academy Award</a>-winning actress <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/politics-culture/lupita-nyong-o-is-publishing-a-children-s-book" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lupita Nyong&rsquo;o</a> will be the brand&rsquo;s first Global Ambassador. Nyong&rsquo;o starred in the brand&rsquo;s new campaign, De Beers: Where It Begins, which depicts the origins of the global luxury brand, and was launched on November 3.&nbsp;
As an empowering actress and individual, Nyong&rsquo;o is an ideal representative for De Beers. &ldquo;With her rare magnetism and elegance, Lupita&nbsp;Nyong&rsquo;o is a testament to the power of boundless possibilities. Embodying modern and responsible luxury, Lupita is an inspiration for all of us,&rdquo; stated De Beers CEO Marc Jacheet.&nbsp;
The brand&rsquo;s Building Forever commitment will also be supported by the actress who is looking to pursue their goals to engage 10,000 girls in STEM, support 10,000 women entrepreneurs, and invest at least $10 million across southern Africa by 2030. Part-owned by the citizens of Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa, this commitment is especially important to De Beers and their initiative to do good for the people and planet.&nbsp;

To celebrate Nyong&rsquo;o and the campaign, De Beers hosted a star-studded dinner on November 14, with guests including <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/things-to-know-about-halle-bailey-the-little-mermaid-beyonce" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Halle Bailey</a>, Elaine Welteroth, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/ivy-getty-wedding-love-family" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ivy Getty</a>, Tina Leung, Nicole Ari Parker, Kenya Bloom, Cindy Bruna, Jessica Wang, and more. The event took place in New York City and consisted of a performance by Chl&ouml;e, and a three-course dinner by Chef Rōze Traore.
