Rose Hanbury Breaks Her Silence Amid Prince William Affair Rumors

Amid the scandals the British royal family is facing right now, there are rumors of Prince William's alleged affair with former political staffer Rose Hanbury. This allegation isn't new, as people have been convinced for years that the Prince of Wales might be having an affair. However, these rumors have had a tenfold increase since Kate Middleton disappeared from the public eye. Recently, these cheating allegations were brought up by late night show host Stephen Colbert as he made comments about the Princess of Wales's absence.
"The Kingdom has been all a flutter about the seeming disappearance of Kate Middleton," Colbert said on last week's episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. "Well now, internet sleuths are guessing that Kate's absence may be related to her husband and the future King of England, William, having an affair."
The major reappearance of the rumor has seemingly caused Hanbury to break her silence, putting an end to these rumors on her end.
When Business Insider reached out to all parties involved, Kensington Palace stayed true to their “never complain, never explain” PR strategy and declined to comment. Hanbury, on the other hand, replied via her lawyers, stating that "the rumours are completely false."
The comments from the TV host about the alleged affair came days after The Independent shared an article detailing Hanbury's background and ties to the British royal family. The article notes that Hanbury's grandmother served as one of Queen Elizabeth II's eight bridesmaids during her wedding. Hanbury herself also attended numerous royal occasions, including King Charles III's coronation, where her son served as one of the Pages of Honor alongside Prince George, and the 2017 state banquet at Buckingham Palace, where it's said she sat beside Prince Harry.
Hanbury is also said to have been close to Wales's, yet the friendship apparently took a turn when allegations of an affair surfaced in 2019.
Aside from this comment through her lawyers, Hanbury has largely chosen to stay silent on this matter.
