As if admitting to photoshopping photos isn't enough, new speculation has emerged around Kate Middleton's Mother's Day photo, with royal followers claiming that they cannot see her wedding ring, fueling further speculation about the stability of the Wales' marriage.
“Kate taking her wedding ring off just intensified all the drama surrounding their marriage and the rumors of William’s affair with Rose,” an unnamed source told InTouch, a celebrity tabloid magazine, referring to a now-infamous family photo drama recently released by Kensington Palace, where Kate is pictured allegedly without her wedding band.
The princess is allegedly devastated by the degree of speculation and unfounded theories surrounding her health, said another friend close to the royal pair, speaking to The Sunday Times this weekend. The source shared that the Prince and Princess of Wales had hoped for the privacy they asked for in their first statement, although are now considering commenting on the Princess's health at a small upcoming engagement.
According to the Sunday Times, the couple has been deeply affected by the social media frenzy and unjustified speculation, leaving them "shaken." Though Kate Middleton and her husband had anticipated a degree of speculation and interest, they had hoped for the space they requested, which was initially granted for about a month.
The source went on to tell the Sunday Times that it was just "cruel," for the public to speculate in such a manner, expressing disdain for the questions surrounding their marriage. Royal photographer Arthur Edwards also weighed in, sharing that Middleton is likely to find the criticisms "upsetting," and worried for her mental health.
While there are numerous theories abuzz on Tiktok, the speculation around the Wales' marriage seems to come from a persistent rumor about Rose Hanbury having an alledged affair with the Prince. Insiders say that this rumor has been out in the open for quite some time in the countryside town of Norfolk, where Hanbury lives with her family and where the royals spend time at Amner Hall.
