While the lifestyle of the rich and famous stereotypically includes drinking and partying, some stars try to steer clear. Many celebrities have been very candid about their struggles with sobriety and are trying to destigmatize addiction and sober living. There shouldn't be shame surrounding these conversations. Here are 15 celebrities living their truth and have opened up about their new clean lifestyle, some of whom may even surprise you.

Kate Moss

Blake Lively's character on Gossip Girl, Serena van der Woodsen, may be a party girl who struggled with alcohol and drug abuse. But that's all it is: a character she played. It may come as a surprise, but in September 2012, she told <a href="https://www.allure.com/gallery/blake-lively-2012">Allure</a> that she doesn't drink alcohol, nor has she ever experimented with drugs. She also tries to avoid clubs altogether, stating that "The music is so loud, you can't have a conversation with anybody." In 2021, the Gossip Girl alum founded her own non-alcoholic sparkling soda line, Betty Buzz.&nbsp;

Robert Downey Jr.

It's no secret that Robert Downey Jr. had struggled with drug and alcohol addiction during the late '80s through the '90s, so much so that he had barely booked any roles at one point. It was a tumultuous time for RDJ, who also got into legal troubles and multiple arrests related to substance abuse and possession. But his comeback story is among the most inspiring sobriety journeys. In 2003, the Avengers star got sober, embracing therapy, 12-step programs, and meditation. And he bounced back better than ever, even becoming one of the highest-grossing actors of all time and winning his first Academy Award in 2024 for his supporting role in Oppenheimer.

Zac Efron

Zac Efron quietly struggled with drug and alcohol addiction throughout his early career. But after entering rehab in 2013, the High School Musical alum decided to commit to sobriety. In 2016, Efron told Entertainment Weekly he thought it was essential to be candid about his struggles and journey.
"There's a theory that actors should live like monks. You stay private, you make a great movie, then that's all people see and you're not a product of your struggle," he said. "But if you're comfortable sharing your story, celebrate it. Most days I wake up excited now," he added.
Since then, his career has only soared, appearing on films like Baywatch, The Greatest Showman, and The Iron Claw. The 2010s heartthrob has now been sober for 12 years and is still a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.&nbsp;

Tom Holland

During the interview in which he reflects on this mental health journey, he does not reveal any personal specifics regarding this choice. Since his role in The Crowded Room, the 26-year-old actor has changed his view regarding mental health and sobriety. In this Apple TV+ series based on a 1981 novel, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/tom-holland-zendaya-relationship-timeline-spider-man" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Holland</a>'s character, Danny Sullivan, is a reclusive teen who is arrested after a shooting at the Rockefeller Center in 1979. Holland says that this role truly affected him: "I was seeing myself in him, but in my personal life. I remember having a bit of a meltdown at home and thinking, like, 'I'm going to shave my head. I need to shave my head because I need to get rid of this character." Because Holland was so moved by this complex character, he has been sober for a little over three years.

Tyra Banks

While supermodel Tyra Banks never struggled with alcohol addiction, she has stayed sober all her life. She had a sip of alcohol when she was 12 years old, but stated that she never liked the taste and electively decided to never drink again. She did have one cocktail on her 50th birthday this year, but her feelings didn't change.&nbsp;

Nicki Minaj

The rapper tweeted, "I used to be happy when I was high. Now I'm happy when I'm sober. No judgment to anyone. Be gentle with yourself. 🎀." Motherhood has changed Minaj's perspective on life, and the rapper is going to continue leading a better lifestyle.

Demi Lovato

In late 2021, the singer announced they would be adopting a clean lifestyle fully instead of being California sober. The vocalist has stayed completely sober ever since.

Kristin Davis

Parties, sex, and endless cocktails defined Sex and the City and all its adaptations. But Kristin Davis had been sober even before she first started playing Charlotte York in the iconic TV show. She quit drinking when she was just 22, candidly sharing that she had abused alcohol during her teenage years to a point where she frequently showed up to acting classes hungover. Now, the Sex and the City and And Just Like That star has been alcohol-free for over 30 years.&nbsp;

Bella Hadid

Travis Barker

Jack Harlow

Jack Harlow's career has been going uphill since his debut, and he intends to keep it that way. Harlow revealed he stopped drinking in 2021. For his&nbsp;Rolling Stone cover story, he states, "I'm in my well-oiled-machine era. Because I can see my future right in front of me. And I feel there's so many people counting on me outside of myself." The rapper is doing everything he can to better his career and that includes sobriety.

I felt this sense of responsibility and I owned it." Last year, Kim also shared a throwback <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CSu9_zkJ_MS/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=3e148503-ad09-404f-b9e1-50affb110d22" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram</a> photo of her visiting Kourtney in college. In the post, she said that she "hated all of the wild parties so much that I stayed home and never wanted to drink or party EVER."
She does, however, occasionally loosen up a little, taking a shot or enjoying a cocktail on special occasions.&nbsp;
