The new Mayenda is distinct from other Blanco tequilas, and here's how.

Mayenda, the Campari Group's newest luxury sipping <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/at-home-quarantine-with-rita-ora" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tequila</a>, celebrated its launch at <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/travel-living/best-nyc-tea-rooms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York City</a>'s Bathhouse Studios in East Village on Thursday. The event honored the home of the hand-crafted tequila, Casa San Nicol&aacute;s in Arandas, by projecting images and videos of the beautiful fields of Jalisco all around the space, as well as agave-plant-decorated floors. Special guests included model Alton Mason, Hong Kong actress Tina Leung, Nigerian-American stylist Alexander Julian Gibbson, internet personality Moti Ankari, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/emerging-fashion-photographers-to-watch" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fashion photographer</a> Raul Tovar, DJ and author Ross One, and more.&nbsp;

Master distiller Jesus Susunaga was in charge of a tasting bar where visitors could learn about the crafting process of Mayenda and how it's different from other Blanco tequilas. It is said that the production of Mayenda requires two extra steps that other tequilas don't usually go through: maceration and the blending of agave miel into the base distillate. In turn, the taste of this specific make has more captivating and profound undertones, making it the perfect sipping tequila.&nbsp;

DJ Ross One and Harley Viera-Newton set the mood with their set as guests enjoyed a fun-filled night of eating, sipping, and chatting. Chef Julian Medina, owner of Toloache, Coppelia, Tacuba Mexican Cantina, La Chula Taqueria, and El Fish Marisqueria, designed a special menu just for the event.
&ldquo;I designed this menu to contrast raw and roasted bites, highlighting how roasting can draw out new&nbsp;flavors and aromas,&rdquo; says Chef Medina. &ldquo;What differentiates Mayenda is how it captures that sweet,&nbsp;caramelized flavor that comes from roasting the pi&ntilde;as, or heart of the agave.&rdquo;
