One of New York City's largest art fairs is back this summer, and L'OFFICIEL has compiled all of the events you won't want to miss.
Frieze New York is back again this May, and there is so much to see and do. Whether you're an art enthusiast or just going along for the ride, there will be something for you around the city. This year's Frieze New York will host over 60 galleries from 27 countries, each of which will bring forth artists, both rising and established. Not only will Frieze be an art fest, but it will also feature pop-up events and panels with some famous faces. L'OFFICIEL has compiled a full itinerary, so you don't miss out on anything exciting.

Where is it held?
Frieze New York will return to The Shed in Hudson Yards, located at 545 West 30th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues.

Must-See Exhibitions
The expanded program of Frieze Week exhibitions will begin on May 15 and will include an array of educational activities around the city. Here is a breakdown of the most anticipated exhibitions in museums featured at Frieze New York you won't want to miss:
The Metropolitan Museum of Art: Cecily Brown: Death and the Maid, Lauren Halsey’s Roof Garden Commission, and Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty at the museum's Costume Institute.
MoMA PS1: Daniel Lind-Ramos: El Viejo Griot — Una historia de todos nosotros
New Museum: Intertwined, a major solo exhibition of Wangechi Mutu
Museum of Modern Art: Georgia O’Keeffe: To See Takes Time and Chosen Memories
Whitney Museum of American Art: the first New York retrospective of Jaune Quick-to-See Smith and first U.S. museum survey of Josh Kline
Dia Foundation, Chelsea: a comprehensive survey of works by Greek-born artist Chryssa
The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum: Young Picasso in Paris
In-Person Tour: Eva Rothschild
Arms Folded and Unfolded is a project directly correlated with Eva Rothschild's stance on change. Her sculptures represent the fluidity of materials, ranging from bronze, fiberglass, and polystyrene — a metaphor for the constant cycle of change in her life. The exhibition will be presented as a sculpture garden, bringing the viewer a sense of peace and comfort while also making them question the relationship between the human body and architecture.
Orion Martin Solo Exhibition
Orion Martin's Faboo exhibition is an investigation of the ways gender conformity, performance, and costume design all intertwine. He has always had a unique outlook on the human experience, relating specifically to body mobility, so his work will present a beautiful portrayal of figures organically shapeshifting. Martin takes inspiration from military attire, Y2K aesthetics, and the early Renaissance to create a distinctive collection of work that will be presented at Frieze New York this coming summer.
Bob Thompson: Agony & Ecstasy
Michael Rosenfeld Gallery is hosting a survey exhibition of the work by famous American artist Bob Thompson. The artwork presented will be carefully selected from his wide scope of personal and public pieces which he created throughout his lifetime, as well as archival photographs and sketchbooks he collected. Bob Thompson: Agony & Ecstasy explores the artist's process of mastering his craft.
Maison 1729: From the Vineyards of Champagne to the High Line
Artist Eva Jospin will be presenting her work PROMENADE(S) in the U.S. for the first time ever during Frieze NYC. Ruinart is hosting an immersive pop-up event where Jospin will showcase her work, alongside some sustainable luxury — something Ruinart is known for. Visitors can anticipate an afternoon full of art, fashion, and specialty cocktails, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 16. Following the weekend of Frieze Art Fair, the event will be open to the public every Thursday evening and Saturday throughout the month of June. Ruinart will be hosting docent-guided tours of the High Line area spotlighting New York’s native plants while promoting diversity along the way.
Possible Conversations: Prada + Frieze
Prada Broadway is hosting its fourth Possible Conversations during Frieze NYC, and it's welcoming artists Dara Birnbaum, Tony Cokes, and Ming Wong. Stuart Comer, The Lonti Ebers Chief Curator of Media and Performance at MoMa, and Michelle Kuo, The Marlene Hess Curator of Painting and Sculpture at MoMa, will be asking a series of questions and bringing forth a conversation encompassing the connection between video, art, and social change.
