The king of prep is back. After taking a three-year hiatus, Tommy Hilfiger returned to the New York Fashion Week scene with the showing of his Fall 2022 Collection titled “See Now, Buy Later.” Taking place in Brooklyn, New York at the Skyline Drive-In, the collection was one full of rebellion, creativity, and edge.

Before the show could start, the excited audience was met with an unexpected guest: rainy skies. But rain or shine the show must go on, and went on it did. As the poncho-covered guests huddled underneath their umbrellas, models walked the runway to energetic and upbeat tunes like Megan Thee Stallion’s “Her” and Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul” and “Summer Renaissance.”

For the collection, Hilfiger stayed true to his classic Americana prep roots with rugby stripes, polo shirts, blazers, and varsity jackets all appearing on the catwalk but brought it to another level by applying a modern streetwear twist to it. The oversized silhouettes, the layering, the gold chain accessories, the pattern blocking—Hilfiger pulled out all the stops. The show also featured pieces from the recently released Tommy Hilfiger x Richard Quinn collaboration.

What really brought the presentation to an extra level was Hilfiger’s noticeable diverse model casting. Models of all shapes, sizes, colors, and ages were represented—which aligned well with the brand’s consistent advocacy for inclusion. Models such as Winnie Harlow, Julia Fox, Alton Mason, Ashley Graham, Precious Lee, Paloma Elsesser, Stella Maxwell, and Quannah Chasinghorse, among others all walked the runway. Celebrity attendees included Kourtney Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Shawn Mendes, John Legend, Kate Moss, Noah Beck, Halima, Law Roach, and Wisdom Kaye.

Just before the models returned for the finale walk, Travis Barker hopped on stage, stripped out of his Tommy Hilfiger x Richard Quinn puffer jacket, and ended the night with a special drum performance to cap things off.
