See the Highlights From the Valentino Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture Show
Pierpaolo Piccioli's latest innovation in Italian style was on display in Valentino's Spring/Summer 2022 couture collection.
Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture show at Paris Fashion Week highlights the house’s dedication to remaining true to its roots while staying current. Pierpaolo Piccioli presented his latest collection at the house’s showroom in Paris, creating a warm, intimate setting for the guests. The models cascaded down the spiral stairs of the showroom, proceeding to walk through the series of rooms decorated with classic Parisienne gold fixtures and mirrors. The atmosphere coupled with the simple decoration allowed for the collection’s pieces to truly take center stage.
The show was opened by Kristen McMenamy and was followed a diverse casting of models. The pieces ranged from stiff and structured to soft and flowing, creating an exciting juxtaposition between the looks that could not be anticipated. Piccioli also used a bold range of colors—beginning with black and muted neutrals, the show then presented bright pinks, oranges, and blue.
There is no doubt Piccioli’s marrying of Valentino’s signature style with new, contemporary elements was an excellent match. The show was truly Valentino at its core, all the while being playful, modern, and effortlessly glamorous.
