Backstage at Libertine Fall 2018

All the fun backstage.

Maximalism was the theme at Libertine’s Fall 2018 show, and even models' nails had fringe on them. Along with that were the signature silkscreened motifs, sequined tops, and insanely embellished coats galore. Pins, sparkly fringe and chunky crystals were just a few of the quirky combinations.

A few dresses in particular were reminiscent of the humor Johnson Hartig always brings to his shows. Lemon yellow jackets and dresses were covered in colorful bottles. Black dresses had patchwork and creature-like appliqués made of crystal and fur.

True to the designer’s form of upcyling a large percentage of the collection, Hartig took inspiration from pieces of the 1940s and 1950s and included them in the collection, after putting his own marks on them, of course.
